sjDANCEco 6th Annual Choreoproject

So Shiva invited me to go to this show. I went.

Bike, light rail. Got to campus around 17h00, but tickets weren't being sold until 18h30. Websites lie... I forgot to bring my bike lock -_- so I had to bring my bike up to Shiva's living room.

Chilled there. While she was playing Ace Attorney, we had a Nerf dart war O_O I think I lost <_< Nahhh, she broke our truce. How evil.

As we were walking to the performance at 18h30, two of her friends came along. Hannah(?) and a tall guy whose name I do not remember. Some talking, then more walking.

The show started after 19h00. Twelve performances. All interpretive dancing >_> Who knew? I didn't.

It wasn't too bad. I didn't understand much of it, but eh -shrug- I'm into movement and music, so it was all good.

I kinda liked all of the performances except for the first one called "Catulli Carmina." As much as I enjoy Carl Orff's music ("Carmina Burana" is just amazing), the dance piece was just O_o off. I don't know any other way to put it. The dancers were not synchronized. Maybe they don't have to be, but I enjoy synchronicity or at least controlled/planned discord.

My favorites:
"Thread Undone" - Clunky is how I would describe it, but it made me smile until it didn't. The ending actually made me a lil sad.
"The Distance Between" - Not sure I understood this, but the movements melded with the music very well.
"Happy Anniversary" - The simplest one to understand. Also very endearing.

Dominic Duong was in the last two^. MA movements, how awesome. He looked familiar. Then I read his lil bio section and found out that he has performed on Paris By Night (Mother recognized his name too) :D Awesome in my book.

What else to say? "The Source" made me think of night club music. It also kinda said "girl power," or maybe that's just me. But it was good. All the girls were in sync haha. There were parts where I was reminded of ST's cheerleader/dance teams, but this was way better :P

"Hearing the Silence" made me think of a horror movie. It was quite haunting. Or it could have just been the music. Though, the stealing of voices and senses was quite nightmarish in itself. Dreams, hmm...

Speaking of music, I really liked a few of the song selections and tracks :D Pretty awesome stuff. And the cool part is the program lists the song titles and music artists. I shall download tomorrow.

Ahaha, I realize my descriptive skills are just so amazing^. Just something you gotta see for yourself. Or not. Interpretive dance isn't everyone's cup o' tea, yeah?

Hm, so Shiva gave me the headlight. It works swimmingly XP I mean, I don't see any better than before, but now drivers can see me :D I can ride on the right side of the street now, yay! Though, there were barely any cars on the street as I was riding home.

And it was sprinkling :O Mother was not happy about me "riding in the rain." >_> What rain? I also came home to find out that the lock to the garage door has been changed and the front door locked. Luckily, Mother was home.

Ah, so much for starting my Linguistics essay today XP I'll start it tomorrow. For sure, I have to. At least I got all my other homework done today. Just got this essay, the Sociology essay to start.

Battlefest Live 360 next Saturday :D I'm so totally going. Gotta go support Ariane and Kathy. Must find a ride though. Who's going and can give me a ride? :D I think I'll call Andrew to see if he's going. Or I'll call Ariane. I'll figure it out. Worst comes to worst, I'll take the light rail. Just going home on the light rail late, alone, kinda sucks. If only I lived (closer to) downtown or if only I could sleep over at someone's place (close to) downtown. Oh well.

But yeah, if you're gonna be in town on Saturday and you wanna go, gimme a call so we can go together :D

"My shaft..."

:P I don't know how Brian can keep a straight face in Engineering...

Today was a simple day. Lazy, really. Well, I got some assigned reading done. Went to an Engineering Club demo thing. The rest of my day was pretty much spent on the sofa in Shiva's living room.

I also spent all day combatting allergies with tissues T-T It was horrible. I had sneezing bouts. And Shiva made me cry XP haha jk. No, but my left eye kept watering. I dunno why, but my allergies were only acting up on the left side of my face O_o Yeaah.

Anyway, when Shiva went to her noon class, I met up with Brian in the Engineering Building. A rep from SKF was putting on a demo about bearings. I followed Brian haha. I realized I was the only girl there >_> Was going to leave, but realized I wouldn't be doing anything if I left. Might as well stay and listen. I could follow maybe half of what the rep was saying haha :P Brian and I smiled and giggled at times because we're immature XP Anyway, the demo was cool -nods- Learned stuff that I'm not sure I'll remember tomorrow.

I just remembered: Brian wasn't wearing a jacket, so he was cold. I said to him, "If we were closer friends, I'd hug you [to create warmth]." As I slightly raised my arms to demonstrate, he inched away from me D:

Haha afterward, I went to Linguistics. Nothing too interesting. I was quite preoccupied with my sneezing and sniffling -_- And my Linguistic Heritage essay is due next week :O I should get started on it. Tomorrow.

After class, I really did just spend the next four or so hours at Shiva's. And we didn't even talk all that much haha. She was busy playing the second Ace Attorney game :P I was trying to solve the paper crossword, momentarily napping, eating, or listening to music.

I spent much of the time either deep in thought or just thinking about the songs I was listening to. But Shiva and I did have some conversation. There was something about prostitution and procrastination >_> I don't know where her head was at when she was saying that stuff :P

Shiva went to Kendo around 19h00. No Brian today :O 'cause he had to practice piano for a competition he's going to tomorrow. I wanna go watch. He really is an impressive pianist.

Anyway, went home on the light rail with Harrison. As usual, he filled in most of the conversation. I don't really care. I like to listen, and I'm usually too tired to talk. Though, I sometimes don't follow very well (i.e. I have no idea what he's literally saying). But yeah, good stuff. We were talking about brain damage or something haha. He slaps himself too often, you know.

One-arm hug before we parted for home. Ten-minute ride home. Dark. Still no headlight, but Shiva said she had a headlight that she found, hm. Monday for that. I did use the taillight though. Fun stuff. Flashing red, yay. Once I use a headlight, I will be able to ride home on the right side of the road :P

Lots of homework this weekend to get done. Or should get done. So tired. But I shall try to get something done tonight. Or not. Maybe sleep early, wake up early, get stuff done early. Hm.

Riding a bike on a foggy morning...

is fun but not very safe if you wear glasses. Water build-up. Blurry vision. But I managed to get to the light rail station without causing a traffic accident. Though, I did almost ride in front of an oncoming, left-turning car. My fault. I didn't see it, and it wasn't my light >_>

And so I just realized that I'll be spending about forty minutes total on my bike four days a week. Four ten-minute rides a day. Not bad. Maybe I'll take the initiative and ride on weekends too. Maybe I'll finally go to Robert's house to learn some close combat stuff :D That would be pretty awesome if we got to that.

So today was chill...
Campus at 8h30.
SSC to get papers and stuff. Couldn't get the financial aid confirmation because the FA office doesn't print stuff out O_o So I gotta go back tomorrow.
Went to the SU to get an access key.
Bench for homework time. Ended up reading Relentless instead.
Shiva saw me. Went to her place. After I put my bike in the bike enclosure. After she pointed out that I can't ride straight. I know. I have no balance, especially with a backpack on. I need to get used to riding a bike again. I need to re-adjust the seat -__- Again.
Chilled in Shiva's living room. Talked about friendships and related things. Brian came over. Watched him try to play "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II" haha. His laptop is inadequate. Then we all watched "The Big Bang Theory" and part of "Katanagatari." The laptop died during the anime.
Class at 13h30. I really need to start the essay for Linguistics. It's due in about a week >_> Nothing too bad. I just need to start.
Back to Shiva's after class. More "Big Bang." And I finally realize that I recognize the actress who plays Penny. She's the girl from "Alley Cats Strike" (loooove that Disney movie) and a few episodes of "Charmed." I knew she looked familiar.
QTIP at 17h30. Brian actually entered the BB Building :D but he decided to sit on the floor away from the meeting D: Hm, Shiva led the meeting. Discussion about how to improve the club and how to prepare/set up for the Drag Show (April 29) and Queer Prom (March 25).
Shiva left for Kendo at 18h30, and I followed Brian, Cathy B, and Rahul to the Art Building for free food. There wasn't really anything left when we got there >_> But good conversation :P I learned that cookies are ultimate happiness. Ooh, there was a kid whistling the Star Wars theme or something. Brian whipped out his cellphone and played the actual music, but he could not match with the whistling skills. He was outwhistled by a ten-year-old.

And that was pretty much my day on campus. Yep.

Oh wait, before I left for the Art Building, Matt C stopped me and again asked if I wanted to go to the Western Regional LGBTQQI Conference down in San Luis Obispo. Cathy had to drop out. So there's an extra spot :O Hmm. I dunno. Should I? Such short notice. It's this weekend. If I do get the spot and decide to go, I still have to ask Mother >_> and that possibility scares me. Of course, I won't say that it's some queer-related thing. I'll just say it's a leadership conference, which it is, yeah?

Hm. I'll talk to Matt about it tomorrow.

There was something else I wanted to mention. Now, I can't remember. Damn this memory. Ahh.

Anyway, you know, now when I type "Brian," I think of Brian L. I don't think of the old Brian :O You know what I mean? Before I got to know Brian L, "Brian" would always bring Brian D into my head. But now that I don't really talk to Brian D except when we all decide to get together, there's a transition going on in my head :O It's weird. I think it's because I don't really have many friends who have the same names. I dunno why I'm thinking about this. I just have to point it out >_> Like, I only know one Maggie, one Le, one Kat, one John (surprisingly), one Rose, one Angela, one Amy, one Lisa, one Albert. Haha occasionally, I'm shocked when I meet a Tony :P because all I think is "that's my brother's name."

Hmm, interesting. I had realized I usually don't address people by their names either. Have I mentioned this before? I don't remember. But I'm getting better. I'm trying to pay attention to how I address people or, in other words, get people's attention. Remember? The most I used to do was just say "hey" or wave until someone noticed that I was trying to get their attention haha. Used to always feel awkward to address friends with their names. I'm weird like that. Hmm. I think I'm getting better with this. I dunno.

And yes, I realize I pay attention to the least important things in my life -shrug-

Haha this was supposed to be a short entry >_> I've just been in a rambling mood, I suppose. And I have more things to say. But homework is calling my name T-T and so is sleep.

The call of sleep is louder.

Damn, I really need to work on focusing these entries. I always say something like this, and I still am not following through haha. Terrible.

First furlough day of the semester. Woot.

Not really "woot." Nothing too interesting happened today. So I'm just gonna think through my day -shrug-

Long, rambling entry follows... :P

I rode my bike to the light rail (finally). Didn't have to worry about crowding on the light rail because it was a furlough day, meaning no or few students. Haha I'm too weak to lift my bike up onto the racks XP I'll work on it. Then again, I've never seen anyone put their BMX on the rack. Those with BMX bikes seem to just stand with their bikes. So I think that's what I'll do from now on.

About a ten-minute ride to the light rail from the house. Also about a ten-minute ride from the Children's Discover Museum to campus. So I got to campus half an hour early, since I had gotten on the light rail at the usual time. I rode up to the Engineering Building because it's where my only morning class is. Took me five minutes to figure out how to put the U-lock on my bike XP

After that, I biked to a bench near the Event Center where the sun was supposed to shine soon after. Cold at 9 in the morning. Sat down and did homework for about two hours. Biked down to Bicycle Express with the intention of buying a headlight, but there was like a line of people in front O_O I didn't want to wait, so I headed back to campus (I'll buy it tomorrow). Sat at another bench and did more homework. Finished all that I brought with me by 11.

I went to Shiva's place because I didn't know what to do after all my homework was done. I hadn't brought a novel to read because I thought I wouldn't finish my homework early -_-

At Shiva's, I brought my bike up because it's safer for the bike that way. Though, I'm gonna go get the access key to the bike enclosures tomorrow (Quite a few things I must do tomorrow). Anyway, Kendo officer meeting, yaayy. Though, I don't know, errr I don't remember the names of the two naginata folks >_> I just know Brian and Shiva :P

Initially, I just sat on the sofa, did sudoku puzzles, and listened to music, occasionally listening in on the discussion. Some weird tangents, like a physics equation (FMA ftw! Only way I'll ever remember that tiny equation) O_o And some minor disagreements(?) between Brian and Shiva :O The other two and I just kept looking at each other like "Whoa >_> scary <_< intense >_<" haha. Wasn't too bad, but people were starting to sound a lil defensive. Yeaah.

I left. At 3. For French. Review for Interrogation #1 on Wednesday :P I kept coughing in class -_- Ugh, it was annoying. And seriously, nine people showed up today. Then again, apparently there are only thirteen students enrolled in this class. Hm.

After class, I went back to Shiva's to get my bike and head home. And yeah, I know, 5 PM is way too early to go home. It's sad, but I can't keep hangin' out late so much. Even if I did finish most of my homework <_<

First time I've biked since that one time with Robert B after senior year XP So dusty. Nostalgic. Very tiring. But at least I've been warming up (exercising) in the morning, so it wasn't too bad. I need to raise up the seat though. It's too low. Extra workout D:

Hmm, I hope this bike thing works out for the best. Yesterday, on the start of the new year, D gave the Cressida to Brother's friend because D felt the car was too dangerous to drive any longer and he didn't want to have to deal with junking the car himself. Haha yeah, when shit gets dangerous, you're supposed to let someone else deal with it :P

So D will now drive the Avalon. Mother should drive the Murano. But apparently, today, she waited till D was home from work to ask him to drive her to buy groceries -_- How disappointing. But yeah, this is how it goes. I now have my bike and the light rail, as long as my bike doesn't get jacked :D And Brother shall wait till August before he can get his license back and have enough money to get another car.

Oh, so apparently, I have enough financial aid money saved (from all four semesters combined) to buy a used car. Sadly, I can't make that decision.

Anyway, tomorrow, things I must do:
Buy headlight
Obtain access key to bike enclosures ($10 deposit?)
Obtain proof of financial aid and full-time status
Start essays haha

I feel like I'm forgetting something else I need to do tomorrow D: Damn it.

You know, I think Mr Reed's checklist habit really got to me. I've been making lists of homework, things I want, things I need, movies to watch, music to download, books to read, resolutions to accomplish, and more. Too many lists. And the only lists I've been going through are my homework lists -_- Most of my other lists are getting longer and longer D:

Resolutions, oh my.

1. Follow: No anger. No complaints.
-Struggling with this one :/ Though, yesterday and today have been all right.

2. Daily: Get out of bed by 0700.
-I'm good on school days haha. Weekends, I'm having some trouble getting up, but I do sometimes.

3. Daily: Meditate for 10 minutes.
-I haven't started. I'm trying, but I can't keep my head in it.

4. Daily: Do 20 push-ups, 20 crunches, 20 chin-ups.
+I'm actually keeping up with this. Yay. Well, with half chin-ups, or quarter chin-ups haha.

5. Do a fitness activity at least twice a week.
+It all started with a bicycle. Finally.

6. Daily: Drink 1 bottle of water.
+My daily intake of H2O has greatly improved :D

7. Daily: Spend 3 extra hours max on the Internet.
+For the most part, I've been homeworking while "socializing" online and whatnot :P

8. Improve Vietnamese and/or French.
+Yay for French class. It actually passes by pretty quickly for me. As for Vietnamese, I haven't had much opportunity to improve it yet.

9. Choose a major by March 31.
-I'm not sure how I would gauge the progress on this. Not sure there is progress. But I suppose, right now, I'm leaning toward Philosophy :O But I could just be saying that, so that I don't feel like I'm not getting anywhere >_>

10. Get a job by summertime.
-I've applied to a few places. No replies :(

11. Do not doubt myself.
-I haven't quite figured out how to do this yet.

12. Prepare for and go to Anime Expo 2010.
-This is being delayed. And sadly (though not unexpectedly), I probably won't cosplay, since I realize Alex will probably choose something that I haven't watched/read/played.

13. Watch the sunrise/sunset with someone.
-I've heard Mt Hamilton has a pretty nice view of the sunrise and sunset, though I'm sure it's very very cold. Hmm. Who has a car and wants to go? haha. And yeah, I'm totally serious about this resolution. I really wanna watch the sunrise/sunset with someone, preferably someone I really care about. But you know, romantic stuff like that doesn't happen to me XP so I'll settle for watching it with good friends ^_^

Ahh, I need to go to bed early. Way tired. Still wishing I updated about more important and interesting things. But I don't know what. I shall find something interesting to update about. Yeah.

Yay for wasting virtual space :P
