Battlefest 2010

Not as interesting as last year's, but I still enjoyed the performances.

Yesterday, I took the light rail downtown to campus. Did some homework on the rail. Returned library books. Light rail back a stop to the Civic Auditorium. Bought a $25-ticket for Battlefest. Met up with Marielle and her (or Ariane's dance) friends. Andrea, Vanna, and Ruben. Interesting people. Andrea put her hand on my head and leaned (I felt short). Then she asked if she could call me Tweety. "Yes, you can." "How about Tweeter?" O_o Mm, no haha.

The doors opened late ): But we all got in and basically saved two rows of seats for their friends. I ended up sitting at the end of the first row next to someone I didn't know >_> Marielle motioned for me to go sit up near her, but it turned out the seat was being saved by some stranger.

As I walked past Marielle and Andrea to get to the open seat, Andrea grabbed my ass. Twice O_O I stopped, turned, and stared at her with a look that said, "Really? Did you really just do that?" Then after I found out the open seat was already taken, I had to walk past the girls again. And again, Andrew grabbed my ass. That time, I stopped momentarily and then kept walking.

Hm, there was a band performance before the start of the competition. April Chase. They sounded a lot like Paramore >_> Pretty good, but I couldn't get Paramore out of my head.

Anyway, the competition was fun. I was really impressed. Though, I don't really remember specific performances anymore. How sad. Oh, I do remember that I especially enjoyed Prophecy Inc.'s performance. They were really on point imho. That massive, 360-degree group wave thing was friggin' awesome. So fluid. I was glad they at least placed third. I wasn't surprised that Funk Beyond Control didn't get first place this year. Love the lil kids dancing, but their performance this year didn't match up with their performance from last year. Pac Modern won first place, but honestly I don't remember their performance at all >_>

Not saying their performance wasn't good. I liked all the performances this year, except maybe FLOorganics' showcase performance. It was interesting, but it didn't really appeal to me. Anyway, I don't think I remember much of the Battlefest performances because I had a really funky headache last night. I'm sure the loud music didn't help either. I remember there were two times in the night where the bass made me feel like I was gonna pass out. But luckily, I didn't.

Ooh, Supreme Soul's guest performance was pretty sick. If only I was better at giving descriptions haha... Oh well, guess you're gonna have to settle for YouTube videos :P Oh, after nine years, Battlefest is finally gonna go nationwide :D How awesome.

Oh, and I think the 3-on-3 battles were rigged too XP The final battle was between the Academy of Yee and the Academy of Villains. Supreme Soul members. Though, the dancer with the red hair was really tight with his moves. Gotta give him that much XP

Mm, I left the Auditorium almost immediately after Pac Modern was announced the winner. Said goodbye to Marielle via text haha. Also texted Ariane, but she didn't reply ): You know, I didn't realize there were other ST people in Wrawsome aside from Kathy D. There's apparently also Jaime, Alyssa G, and Gerald G. Or at least it looked like them. Same people from the hip hop portion of our Fantastiks performance senior year, hm.

So light rail once again to campus. Walked to Shiva's. Got there around 21h30. Jonathan, Hannah, Phil, and two other people were already there. Those two people left. And Ulysses(?) and Katrina (from my Linguistics class) arrived.

I didn't drink much last night. I controlled myself. Yay. I don't remember what I drank though. But I didn't eat much, so it affected me quickly.

We tried to watch "Thank You for Smoking" and "1408," but none of us were really paying attention. So a marathon of "1000 Ways to Die" on SpikeTV was the answer. That lasted till 1 in the morning.

And damn were we loud last night haha. Especially Hannah, Ulysses, and Katrina haha. I felt really bad for Shiva's roommates XP

Lot of random conversation. Much of it revolved around... Actually, I don't remember. I can only recall bits and pieces of conversations. Some guy named Craig was drunk texting Hannah. There was drunken dancing. Talks of how tasty cough medicine is >_< ew.

I spent the last half of the night talking to Phil (tall guy from Lafayette). Got to know each other better. He tried to help me plan my future hahaha. Yeaah. I wasn't much help to his efforts.

And it must have been the effects of alcohol, but I hugged Jonathan and Phil when they left ahaha.

In my slightly drunken state, I contemplated a lot of things. One of them was the realization that I hug some friends (whom I don't often see) more frequently than I hug other friends (whom I do often see). How strange. Like, I hugged those two guys. I hug a few of my friends from high school (who don't go to SJSU). I hug Matt C and Carlo, whom I see once or twice a week. I hug Rose once in a while when I see her. I always hug D when he comes over to the house to visit. On the other hand, I rarely if ever hug Mother or Brother. I don't think I've ever hugged Amy, Christine, Lisa, or Albert, even when I saw them every day last semester and the semester before. I don't hug Brian or Shiva, and I've been chilling with those two about four days a week since the start of semester. And have you realized that I hug you more often now than I did back when we used to hang out in high school? Like, now, every time I see Autumn, Maggie, Ariane, or anyone from high school really, I usually hug them. I never used to do that haha.

My relationships and comfortable-ness with people are not how I should want them to be. Hm. Usually, people seem to hug their closer friends more than they hug their less close friends. Or maybe I'm just trying to find a flaw within myself. Bah, I see too many.

Aaanyway, back to the party/get-together. Shiva and Phil kept tickling me T-T She tickled me out of my seat. So mean. Unfair. Two against one.

Ahh, I was feeling soo hot during the party too T-T Too much body heeeaat. Shiva was the opposite of me. She was cold. I wished I was cold. I can't stand heat. Ahaha, I just remembered Shiva stole heat from my hand O_o She and Phil kept playing with my hands at one point too O_o I just sat there, thinking, "This is kinda weird. Why are they playing with my hands? And why aren't my hands moving away?" I was really tiiired. It was like 3 in the morning. Egh, I usually go to bed by midnight. Ahh, my brain.

Mm, so when Phil was leaving, he said that I was cute >_> <_< >_> I just stared at him O_O and said I didn't know how to respond to that. He said he didn't expect me to say anything. Silence. "Uhh, thank you?" "You're welcome." Mm yeah, like I've said before, I don't get compliments often. So when I do receive them, I feel weird/awkward, and I don't know what to say. And you know, I just never know if people are saying things because they mean it or because they're just trying to flatter me for some patronizing reason -_- haha.

Oh wow, I just remembered I told Phil that I've lied to people a lot. For a nice person, I lie a lot O.O Yeaah. Hm. It's just easier to lie. By omission. Yeah. Ok.

Mm, so I slept over on the living room couch. 4 AM was shut-eye time. But I kept waking up, and I looked at my watch each time. 5h30, 6h00, 6h30, 7h30, 8h30. I stayed awake at 8h30. I did some push-ups and sit-ups haha. Some homework. Then I listened to music and looked out the window for the next two hour.

I remember a dream: I was sleeping on the couch. Pretty much like I was doing in real life. And Brian comes walking through the door and yanks me off the couch so that he can sit on the couch O_o I just sit on the floor, staring up at him. Then I wake up.

Not much of an interesting dream, but eh -shrug-

Morning was ok. Shiva came out of her room around 10h30, and we talked for a while. I was listening to Owl City. She said she hadn't listened to Owl City in a while :O I've been listening to him less often only because I don't drive often anymore. She has her reason for not listening to the music. I have my reason for listening to it (I'm a masochist >_> haha). I've already said it before: Owl City makes me nostalgic in many ways, good and sad. Though, I suppose I never mentioned the sad. But, eh, you don't need to know. Or you already know. You just don't need to know what specifically. Hm, today, I realize there's another reason I listen to Owl City and other music that makes me feel the same way: They make me think about the things I want but can't have >_> yeaah...

Mm, I was gonna take the light rail home, but Mother had plans. So D came to pick me up from campus. Yeah. I was glad. I didn't have to listen to Mother yell at me for going home at noon. Well, I still had to listen, but not for long because she had to go somewhere, whew.

Hmm, I feel like there was so much more I wanted to say about last night. Maybe it was just all the conversations that I wanted to remember but now cannot recall. Yeah, probably. Pathetic -_-

I remember there was a conversation about cuddling. I think I was the one who brought it up though. Not sure.

Blah, I feel like a mopey drunk. I'm a mopey person, mm.

You know, I feel like I can type so much. Yet, there's nothing there, hm.

And my brain hurts. But it doesn't feel like a hangover. It shouldn't be a hangover. I didn't drink enough. Could be a residual headache from last night.

Home alone now. Why am I supposed to be home right now?
I'm kinda losing focus. I'm kinda losing myself. Must be the lack of sleep.
I have a strong urge to really complain about my life, about how frustrated I am that things don't work out the way I want them to (ooh, another conversation topic I had with Phil). But eh.

Sometimes, I want a shoulder to lean on...

because I get really tired or sleepy. I've been waayyy tired the past two days. Found myself wanting to lean on someone's shoulder to sleep. Interesting that I don't want to lie down, just want to lean my head and close my eyes.

Last night, when I was going home on the light rail with Harrison, I was so tired that I almost decided to lean on his shoulder to sleep. Almost haha. But he talks a bit too much for me to do that XP and he was talking about his date for tonight. Yeah. Talking about one girl while another is laying her head on your shoulder. Hmm, no.

So I actually went to bed early last night. At 22h00. Been a while since I went to bed early. It was nice. But I ended up waking up every hour or so and having a nightmare or two. And a pleasant dream. I was in bed for almost twelve hours. Not really a good start to the weekend. Still tired.

Ooh, tomorrow is Battlefest :D I don't know how I'm gonna get to the Civic Auditorium. Mother will not let me take the light rail. And I don't really want to take the light rail home late at night anyway.

I asked someone for a ride, but she hasn't given me an answer :/ Hmm, I wonder if I could borrow the Avalon >_> or maybe I could take the light rail to the Auditorium and ask someone for a ride home. Or go sleep over at someone's place XP Hmm... haha. I don't think Mother would be fond of any of those ideas.

Hm, maybe I'll go to Shiva's party thing and sleep over >_> Ah, we'll see if I go anywhere tomorrow. No homework that I need to do this weekend. I should be ok, yeah.

-sigh- Right now, I'm tired and alone. I think I'll get a head start on next week's homework. Yeah. Or maybe I should start my Sociology paper. Hm. Maybe not. Maybe I'll just lie down, listen to music, think, rest.

Blah, what a mood.

sjDANCEco 6th Annual Choreoproject

So Shiva invited me to go to this show. I went.

Bike, light rail. Got to campus around 17h00, but tickets weren't being sold until 18h30. Websites lie... I forgot to bring my bike lock -_- so I had to bring my bike up to Shiva's living room.

Chilled there. While she was playing Ace Attorney, we had a Nerf dart war O_O I think I lost <_< Nahhh, she broke our truce. How evil.

As we were walking to the performance at 18h30, two of her friends came along. Hannah(?) and a tall guy whose name I do not remember. Some talking, then more walking.

The show started after 19h00. Twelve performances. All interpretive dancing >_> Who knew? I didn't.

It wasn't too bad. I didn't understand much of it, but eh -shrug- I'm into movement and music, so it was all good.

I kinda liked all of the performances except for the first one called "Catulli Carmina." As much as I enjoy Carl Orff's music ("Carmina Burana" is just amazing), the dance piece was just O_o off. I don't know any other way to put it. The dancers were not synchronized. Maybe they don't have to be, but I enjoy synchronicity or at least controlled/planned discord.

My favorites:
"Thread Undone" - Clunky is how I would describe it, but it made me smile until it didn't. The ending actually made me a lil sad.
"The Distance Between" - Not sure I understood this, but the movements melded with the music very well.
"Happy Anniversary" - The simplest one to understand. Also very endearing.

Dominic Duong was in the last two^. MA movements, how awesome. He looked familiar. Then I read his lil bio section and found out that he has performed on Paris By Night (Mother recognized his name too) :D Awesome in my book.

What else to say? "The Source" made me think of night club music. It also kinda said "girl power," or maybe that's just me. But it was good. All the girls were in sync haha. There were parts where I was reminded of ST's cheerleader/dance teams, but this was way better :P

"Hearing the Silence" made me think of a horror movie. It was quite haunting. Or it could have just been the music. Though, the stealing of voices and senses was quite nightmarish in itself. Dreams, hmm...

Speaking of music, I really liked a few of the song selections and tracks :D Pretty awesome stuff. And the cool part is the program lists the song titles and music artists. I shall download tomorrow.

Ahaha, I realize my descriptive skills are just so amazing^. Just something you gotta see for yourself. Or not. Interpretive dance isn't everyone's cup o' tea, yeah?

Hm, so Shiva gave me the headlight. It works swimmingly XP I mean, I don't see any better than before, but now drivers can see me :D I can ride on the right side of the street now, yay! Though, there were barely any cars on the street as I was riding home.

And it was sprinkling :O Mother was not happy about me "riding in the rain." >_> What rain? I also came home to find out that the lock to the garage door has been changed and the front door locked. Luckily, Mother was home.

Ah, so much for starting my Linguistics essay today XP I'll start it tomorrow. For sure, I have to. At least I got all my other homework done today. Just got this essay, the Sociology essay to start.

Battlefest Live 360 next Saturday :D I'm so totally going. Gotta go support Ariane and Kathy. Must find a ride though. Who's going and can give me a ride? :D I think I'll call Andrew to see if he's going. Or I'll call Ariane. I'll figure it out. Worst comes to worst, I'll take the light rail. Just going home on the light rail late, alone, kinda sucks. If only I lived (closer to) downtown or if only I could sleep over at someone's place (close to) downtown. Oh well.

But yeah, if you're gonna be in town on Saturday and you wanna go, gimme a call so we can go together :D

"My shaft..."

:P I don't know how Brian can keep a straight face in Engineering...

Today was a simple day. Lazy, really. Well, I got some assigned reading done. Went to an Engineering Club demo thing. The rest of my day was pretty much spent on the sofa in Shiva's living room.

I also spent all day combatting allergies with tissues T-T It was horrible. I had sneezing bouts. And Shiva made me cry XP haha jk. No, but my left eye kept watering. I dunno why, but my allergies were only acting up on the left side of my face O_o Yeaah.

Anyway, when Shiva went to her noon class, I met up with Brian in the Engineering Building. A rep from SKF was putting on a demo about bearings. I followed Brian haha. I realized I was the only girl there >_> Was going to leave, but realized I wouldn't be doing anything if I left. Might as well stay and listen. I could follow maybe half of what the rep was saying haha :P Brian and I smiled and giggled at times because we're immature XP Anyway, the demo was cool -nods- Learned stuff that I'm not sure I'll remember tomorrow.

I just remembered: Brian wasn't wearing a jacket, so he was cold. I said to him, "If we were closer friends, I'd hug you [to create warmth]." As I slightly raised my arms to demonstrate, he inched away from me D:

Haha afterward, I went to Linguistics. Nothing too interesting. I was quite preoccupied with my sneezing and sniffling -_- And my Linguistic Heritage essay is due next week :O I should get started on it. Tomorrow.

After class, I really did just spend the next four or so hours at Shiva's. And we didn't even talk all that much haha. She was busy playing the second Ace Attorney game :P I was trying to solve the paper crossword, momentarily napping, eating, or listening to music.

I spent much of the time either deep in thought or just thinking about the songs I was listening to. But Shiva and I did have some conversation. There was something about prostitution and procrastination >_> I don't know where her head was at when she was saying that stuff :P

Shiva went to Kendo around 19h00. No Brian today :O 'cause he had to practice piano for a competition he's going to tomorrow. I wanna go watch. He really is an impressive pianist.

Anyway, went home on the light rail with Harrison. As usual, he filled in most of the conversation. I don't really care. I like to listen, and I'm usually too tired to talk. Though, I sometimes don't follow very well (i.e. I have no idea what he's literally saying). But yeah, good stuff. We were talking about brain damage or something haha. He slaps himself too often, you know.

One-arm hug before we parted for home. Ten-minute ride home. Dark. Still no headlight, but Shiva said she had a headlight that she found, hm. Monday for that. I did use the taillight though. Fun stuff. Flashing red, yay. Once I use a headlight, I will be able to ride home on the right side of the road :P

Lots of homework this weekend to get done. Or should get done. So tired. But I shall try to get something done tonight. Or not. Maybe sleep early, wake up early, get stuff done early. Hm.

Riding a bike on a foggy morning...

is fun but not very safe if you wear glasses. Water build-up. Blurry vision. But I managed to get to the light rail station without causing a traffic accident. Though, I did almost ride in front of an oncoming, left-turning car. My fault. I didn't see it, and it wasn't my light >_>

And so I just realized that I'll be spending about forty minutes total on my bike four days a week. Four ten-minute rides a day. Not bad. Maybe I'll take the initiative and ride on weekends too. Maybe I'll finally go to Robert's house to learn some close combat stuff :D That would be pretty awesome if we got to that.

So today was chill...
Campus at 8h30.
SSC to get papers and stuff. Couldn't get the financial aid confirmation because the FA office doesn't print stuff out O_o So I gotta go back tomorrow.
Went to the SU to get an access key.
Bench for homework time. Ended up reading Relentless instead.
Shiva saw me. Went to her place. After I put my bike in the bike enclosure. After she pointed out that I can't ride straight. I know. I have no balance, especially with a backpack on. I need to get used to riding a bike again. I need to re-adjust the seat -__- Again.
Chilled in Shiva's living room. Talked about friendships and related things. Brian came over. Watched him try to play "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II" haha. His laptop is inadequate. Then we all watched "The Big Bang Theory" and part of "Katanagatari." The laptop died during the anime.
Class at 13h30. I really need to start the essay for Linguistics. It's due in about a week >_> Nothing too bad. I just need to start.
Back to Shiva's after class. More "Big Bang." And I finally realize that I recognize the actress who plays Penny. She's the girl from "Alley Cats Strike" (loooove that Disney movie) and a few episodes of "Charmed." I knew she looked familiar.
QTIP at 17h30. Brian actually entered the BB Building :D but he decided to sit on the floor away from the meeting D: Hm, Shiva led the meeting. Discussion about how to improve the club and how to prepare/set up for the Drag Show (April 29) and Queer Prom (March 25).
Shiva left for Kendo at 18h30, and I followed Brian, Cathy B, and Rahul to the Art Building for free food. There wasn't really anything left when we got there >_> But good conversation :P I learned that cookies are ultimate happiness. Ooh, there was a kid whistling the Star Wars theme or something. Brian whipped out his cellphone and played the actual music, but he could not match with the whistling skills. He was outwhistled by a ten-year-old.

And that was pretty much my day on campus. Yep.

Oh wait, before I left for the Art Building, Matt C stopped me and again asked if I wanted to go to the Western Regional LGBTQQI Conference down in San Luis Obispo. Cathy had to drop out. So there's an extra spot :O Hmm. I dunno. Should I? Such short notice. It's this weekend. If I do get the spot and decide to go, I still have to ask Mother >_> and that possibility scares me. Of course, I won't say that it's some queer-related thing. I'll just say it's a leadership conference, which it is, yeah?

Hm. I'll talk to Matt about it tomorrow.

There was something else I wanted to mention. Now, I can't remember. Damn this memory. Ahh.

Anyway, you know, now when I type "Brian," I think of Brian L. I don't think of the old Brian :O You know what I mean? Before I got to know Brian L, "Brian" would always bring Brian D into my head. But now that I don't really talk to Brian D except when we all decide to get together, there's a transition going on in my head :O It's weird. I think it's because I don't really have many friends who have the same names. I dunno why I'm thinking about this. I just have to point it out >_> Like, I only know one Maggie, one Le, one Kat, one John (surprisingly), one Rose, one Angela, one Amy, one Lisa, one Albert. Haha occasionally, I'm shocked when I meet a Tony :P because all I think is "that's my brother's name."

Hmm, interesting. I had realized I usually don't address people by their names either. Have I mentioned this before? I don't remember. But I'm getting better. I'm trying to pay attention to how I address people or, in other words, get people's attention. Remember? The most I used to do was just say "hey" or wave until someone noticed that I was trying to get their attention haha. Used to always feel awkward to address friends with their names. I'm weird like that. Hmm. I think I'm getting better with this. I dunno.

And yes, I realize I pay attention to the least important things in my life -shrug-

Haha this was supposed to be a short entry >_> I've just been in a rambling mood, I suppose. And I have more things to say. But homework is calling my name T-T and so is sleep.

The call of sleep is louder.

Damn, I really need to work on focusing these entries. I always say something like this, and I still am not following through haha. Terrible.

First furlough day of the semester. Woot.

Not really "woot." Nothing too interesting happened today. So I'm just gonna think through my day -shrug-

Long, rambling entry follows... :P

I rode my bike to the light rail (finally). Didn't have to worry about crowding on the light rail because it was a furlough day, meaning no or few students. Haha I'm too weak to lift my bike up onto the racks XP I'll work on it. Then again, I've never seen anyone put their BMX on the rack. Those with BMX bikes seem to just stand with their bikes. So I think that's what I'll do from now on.

About a ten-minute ride to the light rail from the house. Also about a ten-minute ride from the Children's Discover Museum to campus. So I got to campus half an hour early, since I had gotten on the light rail at the usual time. I rode up to the Engineering Building because it's where my only morning class is. Took me five minutes to figure out how to put the U-lock on my bike XP

After that, I biked to a bench near the Event Center where the sun was supposed to shine soon after. Cold at 9 in the morning. Sat down and did homework for about two hours. Biked down to Bicycle Express with the intention of buying a headlight, but there was like a line of people in front O_O I didn't want to wait, so I headed back to campus (I'll buy it tomorrow). Sat at another bench and did more homework. Finished all that I brought with me by 11.

I went to Shiva's place because I didn't know what to do after all my homework was done. I hadn't brought a novel to read because I thought I wouldn't finish my homework early -_-

At Shiva's, I brought my bike up because it's safer for the bike that way. Though, I'm gonna go get the access key to the bike enclosures tomorrow (Quite a few things I must do tomorrow). Anyway, Kendo officer meeting, yaayy. Though, I don't know, errr I don't remember the names of the two naginata folks >_> I just know Brian and Shiva :P

Initially, I just sat on the sofa, did sudoku puzzles, and listened to music, occasionally listening in on the discussion. Some weird tangents, like a physics equation (FMA ftw! Only way I'll ever remember that tiny equation) O_o And some minor disagreements(?) between Brian and Shiva :O The other two and I just kept looking at each other like "Whoa >_> scary <_< intense >_<" haha. Wasn't too bad, but people were starting to sound a lil defensive. Yeaah.

I left. At 3. For French. Review for Interrogation #1 on Wednesday :P I kept coughing in class -_- Ugh, it was annoying. And seriously, nine people showed up today. Then again, apparently there are only thirteen students enrolled in this class. Hm.

After class, I went back to Shiva's to get my bike and head home. And yeah, I know, 5 PM is way too early to go home. It's sad, but I can't keep hangin' out late so much. Even if I did finish most of my homework <_<

First time I've biked since that one time with Robert B after senior year XP So dusty. Nostalgic. Very tiring. But at least I've been warming up (exercising) in the morning, so it wasn't too bad. I need to raise up the seat though. It's too low. Extra workout D:

Hmm, I hope this bike thing works out for the best. Yesterday, on the start of the new year, D gave the Cressida to Brother's friend because D felt the car was too dangerous to drive any longer and he didn't want to have to deal with junking the car himself. Haha yeah, when shit gets dangerous, you're supposed to let someone else deal with it :P

So D will now drive the Avalon. Mother should drive the Murano. But apparently, today, she waited till D was home from work to ask him to drive her to buy groceries -_- How disappointing. But yeah, this is how it goes. I now have my bike and the light rail, as long as my bike doesn't get jacked :D And Brother shall wait till August before he can get his license back and have enough money to get another car.

Oh, so apparently, I have enough financial aid money saved (from all four semesters combined) to buy a used car. Sadly, I can't make that decision.

Anyway, tomorrow, things I must do:
Buy headlight
Obtain access key to bike enclosures ($10 deposit?)
Obtain proof of financial aid and full-time status
Start essays haha

I feel like I'm forgetting something else I need to do tomorrow D: Damn it.

You know, I think Mr Reed's checklist habit really got to me. I've been making lists of homework, things I want, things I need, movies to watch, music to download, books to read, resolutions to accomplish, and more. Too many lists. And the only lists I've been going through are my homework lists -_- Most of my other lists are getting longer and longer D:

Resolutions, oh my.

1. Follow: No anger. No complaints.
-Struggling with this one :/ Though, yesterday and today have been all right.

2. Daily: Get out of bed by 0700.
-I'm good on school days haha. Weekends, I'm having some trouble getting up, but I do sometimes.

3. Daily: Meditate for 10 minutes.
-I haven't started. I'm trying, but I can't keep my head in it.

4. Daily: Do 20 push-ups, 20 crunches, 20 chin-ups.
+I'm actually keeping up with this. Yay. Well, with half chin-ups, or quarter chin-ups haha.

5. Do a fitness activity at least twice a week.
+It all started with a bicycle. Finally.

6. Daily: Drink 1 bottle of water.
+My daily intake of H2O has greatly improved :D

7. Daily: Spend 3 extra hours max on the Internet.
+For the most part, I've been homeworking while "socializing" online and whatnot :P

8. Improve Vietnamese and/or French.
+Yay for French class. It actually passes by pretty quickly for me. As for Vietnamese, I haven't had much opportunity to improve it yet.

9. Choose a major by March 31.
-I'm not sure how I would gauge the progress on this. Not sure there is progress. But I suppose, right now, I'm leaning toward Philosophy :O But I could just be saying that, so that I don't feel like I'm not getting anywhere >_>

10. Get a job by summertime.
-I've applied to a few places. No replies :(

11. Do not doubt myself.
-I haven't quite figured out how to do this yet.

12. Prepare for and go to Anime Expo 2010.
-This is being delayed. And sadly (though not unexpectedly), I probably won't cosplay, since I realize Alex will probably choose something that I haven't watched/read/played.

13. Watch the sunrise/sunset with someone.
-I've heard Mt Hamilton has a pretty nice view of the sunrise and sunset, though I'm sure it's very very cold. Hmm. Who has a car and wants to go? haha. And yeah, I'm totally serious about this resolution. I really wanna watch the sunrise/sunset with someone, preferably someone I really care about. But you know, romantic stuff like that doesn't happen to me XP so I'll settle for watching it with good friends ^_^

Ahh, I need to go to bed early. Way tired. Still wishing I updated about more important and interesting things. But I don't know what. I shall find something interesting to update about. Yeah.

Yay for wasting virtual space :P

I'm feeling lightheaded.

Monday is a furlough, but I still have to show up to campus for a class. Since my French instructor is only a TA, the furloughs don't affect her. I thought a campus-wide furlough meant all the classrooms and buildings would be closed, but I guess not.

So the past two or so days, I've been catching up on homework. I still have six assignments to either start or finish this weekend. I don't even know when two of those assignments are due XP because my profs never said anything about the due dates.

This past week has been all right. Nothing too exciting. But it was a fun week. Denny's on Tuesday with Brian and Shiva at 7 in the morning. And I actually had to show up to my Sociology class on Tuesday and Thursday.

Haven't posted to this blog since Sunday because I figure you don't need to know what I'm doing every day. Nor do I really care to remember every single detail. I mean, before, I was compulsive about updating every day, I guess. But I should break the habit. I feel incomplete when I don't update. That's not a good thing. Plus, I'm on campus for most of my awake time. So yeah.

This past week, I've been thinking about what I want to update about. I'm not really sure. I mean, there were things I wanted to update about, but then I forgot about them -shrug-

I don't know what to post about. I could update about my everyday stuff, but they're not that interesting. Really, on school days, I'm just going to class, walking with Lisa, Amy, Christine, and/or Albert, chillin' with Brian and Shiva, and doing homework. Nothing too interesting to share. Or interesting enough to share, but I don't make 'em seem very interesting.

Haha everything's interesting in my head. I just can't make 'em sound interesting outside of my head. Like, I can take pleasure in just being around friends, but I can't explain why that's so. No need for conversation anymore, and I can still have a good time -shrug- Maybe I'm just weird like that.

Lately, I've been finding it more difficult to talk to friends. I mean, I'm literally not saying much if anything at all, especially in the morning. Compared to last semester, I'm saying way less in the morning. I'm listening a lot more than usual. I'm not contributing much. I don't know why. Hm. Maybe I'm just really tired.

I've also been much more agitated. I just get so angry with Mother. Brother, not so much only because I see him like once a day, usually before I go to bed.

Mother has been pointing out that I've been very rude and disrespectful toward her. I know I have been. I haven't been putting myself in check when I talk to her for the past two weeks. I just can't stand how she talks to me now. Just as I'm sure she can't stand how I talk to her. Feels like a war. Neither side wants to compromise. Neither side trusts the other.

I don't know how to talk to her. I think about it, but nothing ever turns out right in my head.

She's making assumptions and accusations. I'm quick to lose my patience. I haven't yelled at her, but I've been acting as if she doesn't deserve the respect that a parent should receive from her child. She's been yelling at me, but she's also trying to do what she thinks is best for me. I know.

I'm not sure how I feel about this whole thing right now. A part of me wants to be angry at her for not going about this situation the "right" way. Another part of me wants to forgive her and just try to be the good daughter I'm supposed to be. Then there are other parts of me that want other (extreme) things.

You know, we could totally fix this problem if she would just listen to me, if I would just listen to her. If we could make a compromise, we could get along better. But every compromise we've made so far has been forgotten or broken.

For the past week, I've been thinking about me and my life in the context of all the lives around me. I know what I've been thinking. Or maybe I don't, since I can't find the right words. The words I say aloud always sound wrong.

Blaahh. My head is just... grr... Ineffable. The thoughts and the feelings, just ineffable.

You know what I've been wishing? That I was mute. I would just have to listen. I wouldn't have to talk. I could frustrate people for not talking, but they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. It wouldn't be a choice on my part. Now, because I can speak, when I don't talk, I know it annoys people. Really, I just don't feeling like talking.

As much as I don't wanna listen to all the negative shit in this world, I don't ever wanna be deaf. I still love music. Instead, I'd prefer it if people just stop complaining. Maybe I'd stop complaining. Hm.

If I was blind, I wouldn't mind. Not seeing. I don't see things anyway. I see people. If I was blind, maybe I'd finally see things and people for what they really are. Sight blinds me.

Is there ever a point to any of my entries?

Tomorrow's Lunar New Year. Yay. D's coming over :) I didn't really get to see him last weekend 'cause I was out. Tomorrow, though, I'll be home.

If tomorrow is a good start to the year, I'll update about it. Though, my mom is already paranoid about the new year because she read one of those Vietnamese Buddhist prediction book things. Apparently, this year of the tiger will be bad for me. I will be betrayed or swindled by friends. This would explain a lot of things my mom's been saying to me about the friends I have.

Lots of other things I wanna talk about. But I won't. Not now. They make me feel like I'm wallowing in self-pity.

Blah. Hopefully, tomorrow, a new (lunar) year will refresh me. Usually does, just like the solar new year does.

-sigh- I'm gonna be honest. Right now, all I want to do is to stop thinking, to sleep, to dream a nice dream. What I really want is a nice, long hug from someone who really cares and won't let go. haha :P I'm just kidding. I just need a break. I just wanna lie down on the ground, look up at the ceiling (or the sky), and listen to the quiet/wind/background noise.

"The Princess and the Frog"

Watched it today with Brian and Shiva.

Light rail from ST to San Antonio. Got off and waited for the two of them. Then light rail to Great Mall. I don't think I said too much on the light rail (I'm not sure I talked as much as I usually do).

Uhh, the movie was good. Entertaining. Corny. Somewhat salacious (just like many other Disney movies). No catchy songs though. The Shadow Man reminded me of Jafar. Mama Odie reminded me of Suga Mama. Charlotte was like the nice version of Darla Dimple. Eh, enjoyable movie, slightly original plot, fun graphics. Much laughter, but not much excitement. Mm, yeah.

I was holding a pack of mini-mochi throughout the movie. My left wrist was cramped by the end of it.

After the movie, we walked around for a bit. I was like a ping pong ball, hm. I tripped at one point. Or two. And even though I don't like studded belts, I bought a rainbow one (finally) for five bucks because Shiva knows how to haggle.

Neiman Marcus is outrageously overpriced. I tried to explain that the only things I would probably ever buy from NM would be cookies. They really do sell cookies. I wasn't making it up. Hm.

We went to BevMo! so that they could buy root beer. While we were checking out the bottles, one of the employees dropped a wine bottle or two. You could smell the alcohol. Kinda made me feel nauseous.

Light rail back to campus. Shiva's place. Watched some of the Superbowl. I had had no idea which teams were playing. But now I know. Also watched some more AMV Hell. Shiva fed me chunks of egg from her ramen because she is not skilled in the ways of egg-beating. Also, she was playing Ace Attorney (Reminded me of Kat and Jeisun's Phoenix Wright cosplay. Must find photos. Are they on Facebook or ACParadise?).

After the food, I walked with the two of them to the Music Building. They were going to a benefit concert for Haiti. I would have joined them, but I was late for leaving (7:00 PM).

So yeah, that was pretty much my day. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, crappy morning, shitty evening. But everything else in between was all right. And hey, I got most of my homework for this week done. Just need to print out one assignment, finish reading AAS stuff, buy the Linguistics course reader, and start my sociology stuff (once I figure out why the website won't open on my desktop).

Mm, there's a lot of stuff I wanna say. But I keep deleting and revising what I type. I can't get it out of my head.. This kinda sucks.

Cuts, scrapes, and crepes

I pretty much spent most of my awake time today on campus. And I actually got some work done :D Amazing. Though, I still haven't started my sociology stuff -_-

So I spent almost eight hours chillin' with Shiva.

For the first two or so hours that I was in her apartment, we were doing homework. Yay, I finally did homework. I also watched the skies from time to time. It was cloudy. In minutes, the buildings in the distance were covered in a slight fog. Then the fog disappeared, and there were some sprinkling rains. Then the sun played hide-and-seek with the clouds. Or maybe it was peek-a-boo.

Went to The UPS Store and The Market (Safeway). Man, I don't even remember the last time I went grocery shopping. Been so long. Mother and D buy stuff from Costco without me tagging along now.

Went to the small market in CVB to buy ramen. Walked to Maple Press to buy my course reader for Linguistics, but it was closed -__- Must wait till Monday to buy and read.

Back up to Shiva's place. I stood and watched her make ramen on the stove :P

I don't know why, but I like watching people make food haha. It always amazes me. Ah, I want to go watch Le make food haha. Been so many months since her birthday party where we all had to help make the food.

Anyway, the ramen came out pretty good, even if it's just Top Ramen XP Oh, Shiva also made dumplings. Hm. First time I actually ate a meal at her place haha. I usually don't like eating at other people's homes.

After the food, I watched her do the dishes haha. Maybe I should have offered to help. Hm, oh well.

Ooh, hip hop practice :P Shiva pushed furniture out of the way, but there was only enough space for one person to practice at a time. She tried to make me go first XP I resisted. She and I had a slight tug-o-war with my arm while I was on the sofa.

Eventually, I gave in. I have no willpower. It's disheartening, isn't it? So we practiced for a bit. I have major critiques for Shiva :P and for myself (I know what I'm not getting right. I'm just not a performer. I like doing things alone haha). Kinda reminds me of when I used to watch Brian dance. Lots of critique and whatnot. Ah, good times.

Then I had to leave around 19h30. Mother had called and said it was way too late for me to be out -_- Fiiine.

Good day. Omitted all the conversation that filled up parts of the day, but yeah, that was my day. One of those conversations would also explain the title of the entry, but eh, it doesn't really matter, does it? Quite a few moments of silence, but I like silence, hmm.

Oh yeah, Brian L texted me to see if Shiva and I wanted to go watch "The Princess and the Frog" tomorrow at Great Mall. Hm, it appears that I will be allowed to go. But we'll see how tomorrow morning starts off first at home.

I dunno what to label this entry :O Hmm... "nothing" for now. I'll go back and re-label it when I can think of something better.

The pomegranate got fermented :O

Mother had two bowls left of pomegranate in the fridge. I just opened one and ate some. They taste like wine. She told me to keep eating them, so I will. Never waste good fruit. Or alcohol.

Anyway, today was cool. While sitting at a bench, I almost finished The Watchers. So close. Then at 10h20, I saw Chris L and Nicole G (haven't seen her since forever). Went with them to Burger King. Had some Dutch apple pie (first thing I've bought from BK in so many years). It was tasty but way too small D:

Went to Shiva's room at 11h00. Brian L was already there. Shiva went to class. Brian took his naginata with him. Had some trouble with the elevator :P Uhh, Brian and I went to the music building, and I got to watch him play piano :D Pretty damn amazing. He tried to sightread, but apparently he sucks haha. But when he was playing one of the etudes by memory, it was friggin' awesome. I don't know why, but I love watching people play piano (or any instrument, really). He also played some songs from musicals that I'd never watched haha. Though, I did ask him to play "Seasons of Love," but the sheet music was bleh XP so it was slow-going haha.

Then I headed to Linguistics. Brian sat outside the classroom for a while until he realized he was missing his Star Wars watch, which he had taken off in the Music Building.

*Ah, I'm losing details in my entries -_- Way too tired to remember everything. How sad.

Brian and I went to Subway, so he could get a sandwich. Then to Shiva's room. Along the way, ran into one of the naginata people and learned of an interesting car accident story :P Car accident, a-ok; walking to call box, not ok (the guy sprained his ankle) haha.

Brian went back to the Music Building because someone found his watch :D Then Shiva and I headed to Subway, so she could get a sandwich. Then we all watched Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was the Ultimate Version :P

So I finally watched one of the Star Wars movies. Wooo. So much innuendo hahaha. And Brian, being a SW nerd, gave Shiva and me a lot trivia about the production and whatnot.

Then they went to kendo :P

I left. Tried to call and text Harrison to go home. But he didn't pick up or reply. So I went to the library to look for him. Fourth floor. I walked past him because I didn't recognize him D: His hair looked different, his slight beard also made him seem like a stranger, and my glasses were all blurry from the rain. But yeah, found him. Went to the light rail. Used my umbrella, though Harrison didn't really hold it over me XP

We didn't notice the ticket checker people on the light rail when we got on. And the doors closed as soon as we saw them coming. The old lady asked to see our passes. I showed her mine, and Harrison didn't have a valid pass :( So we had to get off at the Convention Center. Harrison got a warning XP and we waited for the next light rail. How sad, you know.

Anyway, Mother was mad at me for coming home late -_- I dunno why. I came home wayy later on Tuesday, and she wasn't as mad then. Today, I came home by 20h00, and she was all asjlfjsldk about it. What the hell? So I suppose I should try to go home even earlier. Ah, whatever.

Still a lot of homework to catch up on D: I brought Mother's laptop again today, but I didn't get any work done XP I think I'm gonna stop trying haha. Or maybe I should start trying for real haha.

Today was just another day. But it was fun :D Brian really has talent haha.

Why couldn't all my days be so chill? No worries, yeah? The end of the day really sucks 'cause I gotta go home, remember everything I have to do, and feel like crap doing all that stuff.

I really need to do more homework while I'm on campus. I've been doing my readings on campus, but that's about it. Need to get to the actual writing stuff soon XP And ooh, I actually have to go to my 16h30 class next week. Still haven't even started my homework for that class 'cause the website won't open at home (this is why I bring the laptop and then forget).

Oh, so I didn't update yesterday. Don't really remember much from yesterday. Chillax day as always, I suppose. Learned a simple choreo in the hip hop dance class. I can actually do it :D except for one part that always messes me up. My arms won't go where I want them to go -_- Mm, AMV Hell videos are strange. Yeah.

Ok, homework, reading, or sleep. I choose sleep. Well, maybe some reading. Then sleep. Then chauffeuring tomorrow. Again. Blah. And I actually want to get shit done tomorrow too -_- Grr. On the days that I choose to be productive, Mother and Brother have to interfere with their own plans. It's aggravating.

The thing with me is when I have stuff to do and the motivation to do it, I wanna do it as early as I can (like on the first day of the weekend). But every time I have the motivation, someone always gotta butt in and take it out. So I might end up driving around tomorrow and sleeping in the damn car, instead of sitting somewhere and getting my homework done. Which means I'm gonna put everything off till Sunday.

I need better habits. Someone, please, make me do better! haha.

And I wish my entries had a theme. Hm. I just don't think like that. I want my thinking to be organized, but I can't keep anything straight. It's disheartening. Next entry, I'll talk about something important, like how sad I was this morning when I found out today's school paper used the same KenKen and crossword puzzles from yesterday D: Majorly disappointed. So I took out the Sudoku book (did I mention this?) that Shiva got for me and played with those puzzles instead haha.

Aiyah. Organize, organize. haha.

My head hurts worse than yesterday..

But I will put in a short (edited, not angry) update before my head explodes.

French language assessment today in Clark Hall. Don't remember what level I'm at. I think the printout said third something. I'm not gonna check.

Spoke with Prof Doi for fifteen or so minutes. Conversation: name, major, advice about how to decide my future (do what you hate and make lots of money or do what you love but probably make less).

QTIP, Q&A, and Kendo tables during the student org faire. Talked to friends, got to know people.

Linguistics at 13h30.

Then Shiva's room at 15h00 till 17h30.

QTIP meeting.

Kendo. Want to say more, but I won't.

Was a good day. Till I had to leave campus. Then the day (or night) just went downhill from there. But I'm going to bed early, so I won't care anymore.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I kinda feel..

J'ai mal...

J'ai mal a la tete. J'ai mal au dos. J'ai mal au genou. But today went pretty well haha. And because my head hurts, I'm pretty sure this entry won't focus on anything really.

I participated in Shiva's hip hop dance class today. Just went over the basic warm-up. Included stretches, isolations, and basic tutting. We did the arm wave and the body wave. Fun stuff. Though, the lunges totally messed up my leg D:

It still hurts. More than usual.

I think I remember all the stuff from warm-ups, though I'm sure I'm not remembering them in the correct order haha.

I kept on beat in the class, though I just forgot which steps we were doing XP Taking Social Dance helped me learn how to fake knowing what I'm doing on the dance floor though haha.

So I think if I just keep showing up to the class, the instructor may not realize I'm not actually in the class. Well, until midterms and stuff :P

There was something I was gonna say about the class, but now I've forgotten it D:

Also, you think Ariane would be proud of me? hahaha :P I think she would be. She's the one who started dancing for real. She also said she saw her crew on an ep of ABDC :D I shall watch the season when it's over. Actually, I'll have to watch the fourth season before that, even though Alex D said it sucked.

Sorry, off on a tangent. Hip hop, hmm. If I start liking this class, I might end up going to Infinity to take lessons from Krisuan, VIPSJ's director guy. Haha probably not, but it's an idea.

Anyway, Financial Aid check came today. Woot. Money into the bank of Mother. What would I do with $3000 anyway?

Oh yeah, Mother got a letter from DMV. She must renew her license. The letter says she has to retake the driving test :O She freaked out. I'm sure she's still freaking out now. If she has to retake the driving test, I hope she passes. I do not want to drive her around any more than I do now -_-

And I really want the rainy season to end, so that I can ride my bike. Mother was not home today when I got off the light rail at 17h30. Had to wait half an hour. I would normally walk home, but it was dark and my clothes weren't very bright. Cars could have run me over D: So I waited. Since no one was around, I started dancing :P Anything to keep my mind from wandering too far haha.

Oh, when I was standing in the light rail, there was a guy, who sat down next to another dude and started talking to the dude and digging for gold -_- Suffices to say that I'm glad I decided not to sit down. I stood on my spot and looked out the window, listening to music.

And you know, surprisingly, French class passes really quickly. I didn't think it would. Actually, my days are passing quickly. Even though, I'm more tired than ever, and I've got much more reading to do this semester -_- My recreational reading is being delayed D: And I'm already kinda falling behind on homework >_> Not really my fault. The Sociology website won't work at home for some odd reason. I should bring Mother's laptop to school to see if the website will open there.

Oh, tomorrow, I think I shall take the language assessment in Clark Hall. Should also go see Prof Doi during his office hours. AAS requirement for this semester: meet with one of the profs during the first two weeks of school just to talk. Supposed to be a way for the profs to get to know their many many students.

So yeah, I think I will try to do everything tomorrow, including my Sociology stuff. So tired, will I remember everything I should do? I hope so. Oh, I should remember to eat. I should not refuse to eat. I just never feel like eating when I should. Would explain why I'm so much more tired than usual. At least I'm drinking water XP

OK, time to read, then sleep. And do whatever else I need to do.

Oh, et demain, je vais assister au club de kendo. Peut-etre. Nous allons voir :P Man, my French is way rusty.
