Anyway, the past few weeks have been a blur. I don't really remember too much /:
Wednesday, June 29, I went hiking with Albert, Steven F, Christine L, her younger brother Andy, Marian L, and Joanna L. I walked from my house to the start of the hill that leads up to IBM. Albert was supposed to meet me at the bottom and hike up with me. But he drove up the hill and came back for me later XD Drove me to the parking lot up the hill. We all went on a trail, which lasted about an hour. Got to know Steven a bit. Hadn't seen him since Lisa H's birthday lunch in our second semester of college. Anyway, Marian and Joanna kept falling behind on the hike because they are not "outdoorsy" people. Had to take several breaks for them to catch up. We stayed at the top of the hill for a while, admiring the view of the city, laughing about random stuff--like the giant ants that live on the hill and falling off the cliff because the fence isn't sturdy--and walking down memory lane to childhood.
After we walked down to the cars, Steven, Albert, and finally Christine competed to see who could access the Internet on their phones the fastest if at all in the hills. Christine won XD Albert and Steven had to check their jury duty statuses. Then we all went to Sweet Tomatoes down the road. Had a hearty meal XP I piled a bunch of salad stuff on my plate, while everyone else took small portions of salad <_< Had clam chowder because everyone else recommended it. Had different tasty bread. Got some jello (it's been a while since I've eaten American jello). Then frozen yogurt (but I think it was actually ice cream) on a cone. I was sooo full, but I had to get my money's worth. And it was worth it XD
This past Thursday evening, July 14, I went to the movies with Harrison who gave me a ride, Amy G, Lisa H, Albert, and Christine. Transformers 3... was ok. Overall, just eh. Parts of it were amazing though. Really good CG, especially in the battle scenes. Story was eh, but again certain parts of the storyline were really good. Acting and human characters were meh. I liked Epps' part, and that was really it. Most of the other characters annoyed me too much -_-
Got out of the movie after 23h00. Talked for a little while with everyone before parting ways. Had to go home soon because Mother would have freaked out if I didn't get home before midnight.
Friday... Mother had a car accident in the morning. Some guy in a Honda rear-ended the Murano in the right-turn lane... after they had both stopped for a while. Mother got his insurance policy cancellation notice but nothing else really. She told him that they should move their cars out of the street to not block traffic, but the guy drove off -_- Mother freaked out and called me when I was on my way out of the house. Told me to stay home so that I could call the police for her when she got home. Except I can't make a police report if she leaves the scene without getting any witnesses -_- But she came home, Harrison walked to my house, and I called our insurance company. Harrison waited a long time before I finally finished the call and we could leave. Mother drove us to the light rail.
I was irritated because Mother kept yelling at me like everything that happened this morning was my fault. If she had just calmly asked me to call the insurance company, I would have. But she didn't, so I was eager to get out of the house. And I think this is a waste of time. There's very little visible damage to the bumper. But the three or four scratches really set Mother off because "it's a new car." It's two years old, and cars eventually get minor damages after a while of driving. But no, she was furious that I even suggested that we let the matter go.
If I were in Mother's place, I would be furious that the guy drove off without giving all of his information, which luckily turned out to be on the letter he gave Mother. But no, Mother's furious that the guy lightly tapped the bumper. She started acting a bit racist, saying that Mexicans can't drive by the law and they always do shit to others without caring or whatever. I was pissed that she said any of that, and Harrison could kinda pick up what she was saying too ):
Anyway, this crap... grrr.. I have to go with Mother on Tuesday at 11h30 to some auto body shop to get an inspection to assess the damage, which really doesn't look like much. Harrison said it looked like it needed a $5 paint job, with which I agree. But of course, it's actually probably gonna cost at least $200 or something -___-
After all that hassle and arriving at campus, Harrison and I walked around and talked and stuff. We went job hunting as well. Checked out places around the campus, like Pizza My Heart, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and Gordon Biersch. Also took the light rail back toward Oakridge. Walked there from the light rail (and Harrison gave me a piggy back ride a part of the way). Went to Target so Harrison could buy a kiddie pool and a foam noodle for his water balloon fight next Friday. Also asked around to see if some stores were hiring. Then light rail to our stop near home. Walked for half an hour to Harrison's house. Tried to play with his kittens, but they were too cautious of me especially the black one (again? >: So sad). Sat and talked with Harrison for a bit. Then went home.
So the interesting thing about applying for jobs now is that most places only have online applications. Three or four of the places Harrison and I checked out told us that we had to print out the applications, fill them out, and turn them in. And two places had the actual physical applications on hand. So sad -_-
Saturday, I filled out some job applications because Shiva said she wouldn't talk to me until I got ten done ): I posted this on Facebook, and other people did not sympathize with me -_- Instead, they were proud of Shiva. Rawr.
Sunday, I was anticipating Shiva's return to San Jose :) She got to my house around 15h00. She got settled into my house, and then we went to Harrison's house to play with the kittens again XP I think Shiva just has a way with animals. The kittens allowed us to pet and rub them to sleep.
Then I drove Shiva and Harrison in Shiva's car to Stephanie S's house. Then Shiva and I switched. Drove downtown. Were a bit late. Parked in front of Los Gallos De Villa. Autumn called me and asked if I was there. I said I was almost there but told her to look for a tall Indian guy (Killol) and a Chinese girl (Marian) with glasses and a ponytail at Iguanas. I told her to talk to them XD Harrison and Shiva, meanwhile, were getting Horchata (mmm tasty). Walked to Iguanas. Hugged Autumn because it's been soooo long since I've seen her. She seems more carefree now, I guess haha.
We went into Iguanas and ordered our food. Sat outside in front of the store. Windy day. Food was good. Conversation was much better :D Stephanie's awkward and physically painful date, Marian's pigeon story, my obsession with "1000 Ways To Die," etc etc.
When Shiva went inside Iguanas for something, I took out the birthday gift that her friends and I made and put together. I didn't know how to surprise her with it, so I placed it on the table in front of her seat. Then Harrison covered it with his jacket XD When Shiva was back, she didn't take the jacket off. So Killol asked Harrison if he would like to take his jacket back XP Thus, Harrison unveiled the booklet on the table, and Shiva was pleasantly surprised :P She looked through the book and saw all the stuff that people made for her :) It was wonderful. Then she went around and gave everyone a hug :) I told her about some of the images being cut off because the guy who printed the pages enlarged the images without telling me that it would cut off the images. But it's ok. Shiva will get the digital copies. Also, I told her that everyone that went to the Vegetarian House dinner contributed to the book :) That was awesome :3
Harrison's friend, Margaret C, came late haha. Then we all went to Bijan Bakery because people were cold and they wanted to be inside. More conversation, plus overpriced sweets XP Killol was ecstatic when he finally found Shiva's ticklish spot hahaha. He also faced Marian's wrath for poking her and invading her personal space too much XP Poor guy got hit so many times Sunday night.
Then we all walked back to Shiva's car. Took group pictures and parted ways.
Monday, Shiva and I didn't have anything to do. So we got up kinda late. I had to pick up Brother and drive him to my house so that he could do his laundry. Shiva had to work on some profiles for all the places she's interviewing with this week. When we drove Brother back to his place, we called Harrison to see if we could come over. But he was not home ): So Shiva and I drove around. She asked me where I wanted to go, but I couldn't think of any place I wanted to go. She kept pressuring me XP So I directed her to a park that her GPS said was close by. But it was in a not-so-good neighborhood, so we left. Next, I directed her to Davis Middle School. I remember it had more trees years ago. Went to my old house on Skyway Drive next to Valley Christian. Then back to my current house. Actually, we drove up Bernal Road to IBM. Then parked in the parking lot of the county park. Then hiked halfway up the trail that I went on a little while back with Albert and our friends.
On the way up, I saw someone I hadn't talk to since I was little. Talked to her a bit, and then kept going up. Shiva and I saw dragonflies (they weren't there last time). Then we walked off the main trail toward the clifflike area so that Shiva could take a picture of the city. When we turned around to go back down, we saw deer :D Three of them! We slowly got closer to them, as Shiva took pictures. Then went back to her car. I slipped a little on the way <_<
But then we went home. Totally forgot to go to the bank and to go get slurpees ): I feel bad about that. I'm sorry I forgot, Shiva! Next year!
Today, Shiva has an interview. It was at 9h00, but while she was on her way there, they called and rescheduled for 14h45 -_- She was already halfway to Berkeley too. Woke up early just to get rescheduled. Rawr. Waiting for Shiva to come back now.
At 11 or so, I have to go with Mother to get the car inspected for damaged. Really not that much damage. I think the inspector may laugh on the inside a little when she sees what the damage is. I know I did.
Anyway, summer is going well enough. May drive up to Davis with Autumn one of these weekends to visit Maggie. Considering going to So Cal with Shiva when she goes back on Sunday. Must find a job though. Must buy textbooks soon too.

X-Men: First Class
Brother and I went to go watch the movie today. Mother dropped us off at Oakridge. Jovany sold us our tickets :D
For a two-hour-long movie, "First Class" was pretty awesome. I loved it. Great action, great storyline, great acting. I found my sympathy to lie with Erik for most if not all of the movie. Michael Fassbender is a superb actor, who made it easy for me to empathize with Erik. James MacAvoy was good as Charles. Played calm and cool very well. The scumbag antagonist varied between meh and grr haha. Kevin Bacon keeps playing bad guys; I wonder why, but at least he's good and convincing.
Overall, I really liked the characters. This movie explains a few things that I always wondered about XD Awesome story throughout the movie, but especially in the first half of the movie, I think. And the action was best toward the end.
Anyway, Brother fell asleep during the movie. So sad. I had to wake him up several times because he was snoring -.- He thought the story was too slow and boring. He wanted more action. I'm so disappointed -.- You shouldn't watch X-Men just for the action. It's the story that really makes the movie.
Afterward, Brother and I walked to the light rail station to go home. On the way, we passed a dead cat ;-; It was lying on its side with its eyes and mouth open. The legs were straight and rigid. I asked Brother, "Is that a dead cat?!" T_T So scary and sad. Flies were buzzing in and out of the mouth. Didn't look like it had been run over. Looked more like it had been scared to death. But yeah, image scarred into my brain T_T
Now, I have to drive Brother home -.- But I'm hoping to go watch more movies and do other things this summer with people :) Can't wait!
Btw (off-topic), I think asking people to give you an answer to certain questions is unfair and stupid, to say the least, in given situations. Like, Brother asked Mother is she loved him. I thought, "Why wouldn't she? She does so much for you when she doesn't have to and when you cause her so much pain. How could she not love you? Why do you need to ask?" Anyway, yeah, just thoughts and thoughts on my mind.
Now, time to drive.

Harrison's Water Fight/Movie Night
This past week has been pretty good and tiring. I don't update often anymore 'cause I'm not home for most of my awake time. When I am home, it's usually early in the day and late at night. Too tired to update stuff. I'm not even keeping up with my YouTube subscriptions D: So sad. I have about thirty videos to watch.
Anyway, just been going to class and being with Shiva and few other persons.
Shiva and I watched "Inception" on Sunday. Missed the first couple of minutes though. But the movie was pretty good. I didn't completely understand the movie, but it was captivating and the effects were spiffy. DiCaprio sure picks some awesome films to act in. Anyway, the theater was crowded. Shiva and I had to sit toward the front to watch the movie. Neck cramp for me -_- but it was all good. We enjoyed ourselves.
Oh, the squirrel came back to me yesterday XD but I didn't feed it this time. And it wasn't being persistent about getting food.
Been really distracted this past week by a certain someone >_> Really need to get reading and work done this weekend. Must focus real hard.
Oh, Harrison and I decided yesterday evening (while waiting for Shiva to finish Kendo practice) that we shall share a super burrito from La Vic's from time to time. Our bonding time haha. Maybe one day I'll be hungry enough for us to share a Burritozilla from Iguanas.
Anyway, today, I went to campus to help Shiva make food for Harrison's party. What was it? Mitarashi dango? I don't remember exactly what it was called. But yeah. Tasty stuff. Messy process haha. I kinda screwed up and put in too much water in the mixture. Instead of making twenty-five pieces, we made more than seventy pieces. Using toothpicks instead of skewers (gotta love Shiva's resourcefulness).
After we finished, Michelle (Shiva's roommate) gave Shiva, Marian, and me a ride to Harrison's so that the four of us could enjoy the water fight XD The four of us spent about an hour and a half filling up water balloons and tossing them into the kiddie pool in front of Harrison's house.
I hadn't planned on participating in the water fight, but people got me with the balloons -_- so I ended up joining in. Took the longest time for me to dry off haha.
After Shiva and I were done with the balloons, I walked with her to a house I used to live in. It looks completely different. Lots of memories in that house for me. Many good, many bad. But really, I just remember all the bike-riding.
Anyway, back to the party... I need to walk barefoot more often. The soles of my feet are so sensitive; so disappointing. I used to go barefoot with no problems. Today, every twig and rock hurt my feet T-T
When we got back to Harrison's house, all of the water balloons were gone. Group pictures. I made a strange face for the silly pictures o_o Can't wait to see those >_>
I didn't really eat too much. There were pizza, cupcakes, sodas, vegetables, and other stuff. Food did not agree with my stomach ): And I was soaked. No extra clothes, blah. Borrowed Shiva's shirt haha.
Started watching "Ocean's Eleven," but most people weren't paying attention. So "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" was put in, and more attention was held by this. Realized Cary Elwes was the actor playing Robin Hood O: Shocking, especially since I've only ever thought of him as Dr Gordon from "Saw."
Left Harrison's place at 21h45-ish. Michelle gave me a ride home.
Now, I'm home. Yay. Tried to eat something to make my stomach feel better. But nothing wants to go into my stomach and stay there.
Mm, need to get stuff done this weekend. I hope I do. Readings and papers. I can do this. Just need to focus and not get distracted.
Going to campus tomorrow and on Sunday to work on stuff and study for a midterm.
Three weeks of summer session left. About five weeks of summer break. Helping Shiva move to her old apartment next weekend, wooo.
Blah blah blah. My brain is starting to become mush. Exhausted... Need sleep. Forgetting things. Thoughts jumping around, feeling semi-coherent.
Ok, good night.

Been a long while since I last shopped in Oakridge
So today, I went to Oakridge with Shiva. We met up at the Ohlone-Chynoweth light rail station and walked to the mall.
We watched the first showing of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." I saw Jovany working the register :P Anyway, I didn't really know anything about the storyline. But the movie was all right, somewhat interesting. Really, I liked the music the most haha. And Garsiv was my favorite character, even if his part wasn't really all that crucial to the plot :P Oh yea, Shiva pointed out that the Persians all had European accents XD Oh, British actors and their accents haha.
Anyway, after the movie, Shiva and I went shopping >_> Kinda. More like she picked out stuff and I tried them on haha. She tried to get my opinion in on the choices, but, like I say over and over again, I do not like shopping, am not fun to shop with, and would never wish to shop. First time in a really long time that anyone outside of my family has tried to help me buy clothes XD In the end, I bought two pairs of shorts from Target for about $36. Shiva bought stuff too haha.
Food from Sbarro. Pizza and bread sticks. First time eating from there for me. Apparently not as good as the other times Shiva has gotten food from Sbarro.
Ooh, I saw Trieu twice with his family. Once in the food court and the other time at the theater. He and I need to hang out more often haha. Been way too long.
Haha when Shiva and I walked around the mall, a girl working at one of those makeup island thingies tried to stop us to try some lip gloss or something. I was gonna keep going. But Shiva had to reply and stop XP As she was being pulled in, I slowly walked away and ignored the chick. I waited in front of a store window looking at skateboard sets. I want the Pacman board :D It was pretty awesome. 90 bucks too.
Anyway, Shiva and I decided to head to campus around 17h30. Light rail from Oakridge to Ohlone, from Ohlone to San Antonio. Haha while we were waiting for the light rail at Oakridge, there was a mom there with her son, who was climbing on a fence. All I can remember about her was that she kept scolding her son for climbing the fence and saying stuff about the police and Internal Affairs or something O_o
Haha a while after we got on the light rail to campus, some dude, who might have been drunk, asked Shiva for her phone number XP Denied. And ignored haha. When we got off the light rail, he said "Good bye, ladies." When we were outside the light rail, he tapped on the window and waved at us. I would call this a mild interaction... Whew haha.
Mm, on campus, I spent like three hours in Shiva's room before I had to go home. She was doing her reading, while I was napping from time to time. Fun stuff XP Mm... Wish I could have stayed instead of going home. I was getting sooo comfy too haha -_- Didn't wanna get up -grumblegrumble- Why did I get up? ):
Mm, fun day. Lots of awesome, fun times... :)
Going home was terrible.. I was gonna complain about it, but whatever. Fuck it.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna be on campus to talk to Financial Aid people. Will probably take Stats and Social Problems this summer. 9h00 classes four days a week -_- It's like semester all over again. Except longer class times. Mm, fun stuff.
Ooh, get to sign up for Fall classes next Tuesday at 10h40, yay. Kinda got my schedule planned for Fall. Hope I get all morning classes again like my first two semesters of college. I miss that kinda schedule. Could get out early in the day.
Oh, I just did some math haha. I have 77 units right now. Junior status, woot. Add in two summer courses. I'll have 83 at the end of summer. That means after Fall semester, I'll have at least 95 units. Up to Senior status. Does that mean I'd have to start thinking about/applying for graduation? Hmm.
Back to the 77 units... That consists of 42 units for my Core GE, 2 units for PE courses, 27 units earned from testing (APs), and 6 units for just-for-fun classes. One of those just-for-fun classes was Intro to Sociology. Because of that class, of the 42 units I need for my major, I got 3 out of the way (Going to get 6 more out of the way this summer). So I still need 39 (or 33 after summer) for my major. 77 + (6 + 33) = 116. That's like another two semesters and a summer's worth of classes. And then I'd only need like two more electives to get the minimum 120 units for graduation.
And then I've got my Philosophy minor, which would be another 18 units. But I've taken Moral Philosophy. So that takes out 3 units. So 15 needed for my minor (a whole semester's worth of classes). So 116 + 15 = 131. If I did my math right and I stick to this plan, I could possibly graduate with 131 units in Fall 2011. Latest would probably be Spring 2012.
All this just means I've been on track for a timely graduation without realizing it XD hahaha. And here I thought I'd be graduating after five or six years of college. Though, of course, I could decide to change my major or something. That could get in the way of a timely graduation.
Blah. Life better work out somewhat well for all this crap and stuff I'm putting myself through -_- haha...

Haha when Shiva and I walked around the mall, a girl working at one of those makeup island thingies tried to stop us to try some lip gloss or something. I was gonna keep going. But Shiva had to reply and stop XP As she was being pulled in, I slowly walked away and ignored the chick. I waited in front of a store window looking at skateboard sets. I want the Pacman board :D It was pretty awesome. 90 bucks too.
Anyway, Shiva and I decided to head to campus around 17h30. Light rail from Oakridge to Ohlone, from Ohlone to San Antonio. Haha while we were waiting for the light rail at Oakridge, there was a mom there with her son, who was climbing on a fence. All I can remember about her was that she kept scolding her son for climbing the fence and saying stuff about the police and Internal Affairs or something O_o
Haha a while after we got on the light rail to campus, some dude, who might have been drunk, asked Shiva for her phone number XP Denied. And ignored haha. When we got off the light rail, he said "Good bye, ladies." When we were outside the light rail, he tapped on the window and waved at us. I would call this a mild interaction... Whew haha.
Mm, on campus, I spent like three hours in Shiva's room before I had to go home. She was doing her reading, while I was napping from time to time. Fun stuff XP Mm... Wish I could have stayed instead of going home. I was getting sooo comfy too haha -_- Didn't wanna get up -grumblegrumble- Why did I get up? ):
Mm, fun day. Lots of awesome, fun times... :)
Going home was terrible.. I was gonna complain about it, but whatever. Fuck it.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna be on campus to talk to Financial Aid people. Will probably take Stats and Social Problems this summer. 9h00 classes four days a week -_- It's like semester all over again. Except longer class times. Mm, fun stuff.
Ooh, get to sign up for Fall classes next Tuesday at 10h40, yay. Kinda got my schedule planned for Fall. Hope I get all morning classes again like my first two semesters of college. I miss that kinda schedule. Could get out early in the day.
Oh, I just did some math haha. I have 77 units right now. Junior status, woot. Add in two summer courses. I'll have 83 at the end of summer. That means after Fall semester, I'll have at least 95 units. Up to Senior status. Does that mean I'd have to start thinking about/applying for graduation? Hmm.
Back to the 77 units... That consists of 42 units for my Core GE, 2 units for PE courses, 27 units earned from testing (APs), and 6 units for just-for-fun classes. One of those just-for-fun classes was Intro to Sociology. Because of that class, of the 42 units I need for my major, I got 3 out of the way (Going to get 6 more out of the way this summer). So I still need 39 (or 33 after summer) for my major. 77 + (6 + 33) = 116. That's like another two semesters and a summer's worth of classes. And then I'd only need like two more electives to get the minimum 120 units for graduation.
And then I've got my Philosophy minor, which would be another 18 units. But I've taken Moral Philosophy. So that takes out 3 units. So 15 needed for my minor (a whole semester's worth of classes). So 116 + 15 = 131. If I did my math right and I stick to this plan, I could possibly graduate with 131 units in Fall 2011. Latest would probably be Spring 2012.
All this just means I've been on track for a timely graduation without realizing it XD hahaha. And here I thought I'd be graduating after five or six years of college. Though, of course, I could decide to change my major or something. That could get in the way of a timely graduation.
Blah. Life better work out somewhat well for all this crap and stuff I'm putting myself through -_- haha...

"Alice in Wonderland" and "Shutter Island"
It's not that weird of a combination of movies to watch. And both were entertaining. Though, I'm not sure if it's me or what, but I wasn't completely satisfied with either film -shrug-
AiW, 7/10. The computer effects, awesome. The creatures looked amazing. The Bandersnatch and the Jabberwocky, I wish they were real haha. Maybe they are. I wish the Cheshire Cat were real too haha. And I thought the acting and characters were a mixed bag. Red Queen (Helena B Carter) got my sympathy, honestly. Alice (Mia Wasikowska) was so dry. I'm thinking her character is supposed to be like that. The Red Hatter wasn't as eccentric as I had hoped, but then again I wasn't sure how the Hatter should be anyway in this future Wonderland. Crispin Glover did so well as the Knave of Hearts XD I was happy with his acting (Though, I still see him as Willard or George McFly >_>). White Queen (Anne Hathaway), ehh, did she always move around so much? So much floaty-ness and twirling. I'm not sure how I feel about that. And her appearance was ehh >_> All white but with dark eyebrows, eyes, lips, and nails. She looked kinda evil to me, hm.
Oh yeah, the last gazebo scene, ahahaha, totally gangster XD
"Shutter Island" was interesting, 7.5/10. Predictable stuff (Then again, Andrea had ruined the ending for me when we were at Battlefest). Though the plot twist wasn't all that crazy and the movie really wasn't suspenseful for me, I think the acting was well-done. Notable performances by Leonardo DiCaprio (Teddy), Mark Ruffalo (Chuck), Ben Kingsley (Dr Cawley), and Ted Levine (the Warden) with his small part. Seriously, I enjoyed the acting. But Michelle Williams' acting was a lil bit iffy. Or maybe it was her character. Her emotion was just off-putting to me, but I suppose that just added to the atmosphere of the movie. Oh, and the suspenseful moments didn't surprise me ): I was slightly disappointed. But the lake scene almost made me cry. Yeaah.
I agree with Brian that the plot twist was predictable and therefore not a real twist. However, the way the movie handled the twist was a bit unexpected. It didn't follow the trend. Haha Claudia was disappointed that the ending didn't follow cliche :P
I read an online review somewhere that compared "Shutter Island" to "The Departed." Honestly, I have to say that I prefer "The Departed." I feel like I could watch that movie more often than I could watch "Shutter Island," but that's just me.
So today, Chris M (from Bernal and ST) gave me a ride to Eastridge around 11h10. Would have picked up Shiva and her friend if she had called, but she didn't. So Chris and I got to the mall around 11h30. Claudia wasn't there yet. And Chris had to leave because his dad called and told him to come home ): I told him he should go home. He bought a ticket for the "Shutter Island" showing at 14h00 and left. I waited for Claudia. She showed up right at noon when "Alice in Wonderland" was supposed to start. I almost thought she wasn't gonna show up, but yeah she did ^_^ If she hadn't, I don't know what I would have done because she has no cell phone and I had no ride for home -_-
Haha and while we were in line so she could buy water, we were talking about how we hate planning things/inviting people to things. People say yes at first, and then gradually they all change their answers to no -_- This is the third time it's happened to me in the past six or so months. I had at least eight people say yes for today. Claudia was obviously supposed to show because she was the one who invited me. Chris came (for the purpose of being my chauffeur XP haha). Brian showed for the second movie. Everyone else decided they didn't want to go or they couldn't go. I'd prefer that people just say no upfront or maybe. Not yes, then no. I dislike that very much. It has a negative impact on my life XP Apparently, the reason why Claudia invites me to the movies is that I mean yes when I say yes. At least for movie-watching. I'm usually good on my word, you know? Yeaah.
Anyway, we watched AiW. The movie ended around 2. I bought chocolate-covered raisins from a vending machine (been so long since I last had some). I put in $3.25 because I was hungry XP And you know, this was a suspenseful experience because the box got stuck D: I almost freaked out. Started pounding on the machine. Eventually, I figured out how to get it out. But ah, I dislike vending machines now T-T
After that, we headed over to the room for SI, where Brian was waiting for us. Haha Brian and I laughed at quite a few things during the movie XP Such silly things. Though, I currently cannot recall what any of them were haha.
When we got out of the theater around 16h30, Chris appeared out of nowhere. Turned out that he had come in to watch the last hour of the movie :O I didn't know. I had seen him come in and sit down in front, but I wasn't sure if it had actually been him >_> I felt bad. He paid $8.75 to watch half a movie D: And he was driving me too DX Mm..
We stood outside the theater for a bit. I talked to each person individually. They didn't really talk to each other -_- I realized I didn't introduce Chris to the other two. But, you know, they could have introduced themselves without me.
Anyway, we headed over to Daiso because Claudia wanted to look at or buy something. Brian left soon after. The rest of us headed over to Barnes & Noble and talked about the different books there. I didn't know Glenn Beck put out many books -_- Scary. Also, so many novels changing their covers to match with the recently-released movies based on them. I'm kinda not liking that, but eh whatever. After a few minutes of the conversation on books and Chris' hand gestures haha, Claudia had to leave.
Chris and I headed to his Jeep. I didn't know where to go, so Chris took me to the spot where he crashed his old Chevelle, poor thing. Spent more than half an hour standing on the side of San Felipe Road talking about his experience and whatnot. Crazy stuff. His car took out a chunk of a telephone pole haha. Damn. I'm surprised the pole is still standing. Oh, we saw two cars racing down the winding road as well. How close they got to running me over, hmm. Worrisome. Also darkness settling in. So we decided to get back in the car.
Drove all the way down San Felipe to Metcalf Road, to Bailey Avenue. So many turns @_@ Dangerous. Ooh, but the city lights, sooo nice. I really wanna just camp out on a tall hill or a mountain and look down on the city lights. And wait for the sunrise :D Ahh, that reminds me of when I used to live next to Valley Christian High School. One of the coolest places to see the city lights from. Oh, memories.
Anyway, yeah, much of the conversation that I had with Chris was about cars and his friend Mike P, whom apparently everyone should know. I know of him. I've known of him since Bernal :P But yeah, all very interesting conversation haha.
So I got home at 18h00, maybe 18h30. I don't remember. But I do remember Mother saying that she liked Chris because he looked like a nice guy haha. He is a nice guy (:
Oh, haha I just remembered that I could have gotten him and Brian talking more if I had mentioned that Brian is on a team building a hybrid formula race car XP Why I didn't think of it earlier, I do not know. Next time.
But yeah, that was basically my day. Good stuff. Movies were good, but conversations were more fun. Next time, I'll try to facilitate conversation, I guess. Though, people already know I'm not much of a conversationalist myself, sooo... Don't expect amazing conversation starters from me. I'm usually better at one-on-one conversations, in which the other speaker has more to say than I do or is passionate about something ^_^ Yeah, if you hadn't noticed.
Mm, fun stuff. Shall spend tomorrow doing some homework. At least another chapter for Sociology. I need motivation to start on my essays though -_- Blah. Ooh, Queer Prom in three weeks. I want to go. We'll see what happens, hm.
Oh yeah, yesterday was cool too. Spent the day chillin' at Shiva's and doing French homework haha. Brian came over when we were watching the Japanese version of Sailor Moon. Oh, memories XD There were also invasions of foot space. Offers of a shoulder to lean on. Literally. Lessons in hugs, I suppose >_> scary stuff. She made me hug Phil XP haha.

"The Princess and the Frog"
Watched it today with Brian and Shiva.
Light rail from ST to San Antonio. Got off and waited for the two of them. Then light rail to Great Mall. I don't think I said too much on the light rail (I'm not sure I talked as much as I usually do).
Uhh, the movie was good. Entertaining. Corny. Somewhat salacious (just like many other Disney movies). No catchy songs though. The Shadow Man reminded me of Jafar. Mama Odie reminded me of Suga Mama. Charlotte was like the nice version of Darla Dimple. Eh, enjoyable movie, slightly original plot, fun graphics. Much laughter, but not much excitement. Mm, yeah.
I was holding a pack of mini-mochi throughout the movie. My left wrist was cramped by the end of it.
After the movie, we walked around for a bit. I was like a ping pong ball, hm. I tripped at one point. Or two. And even though I don't like studded belts, I bought a rainbow one (finally) for five bucks because Shiva knows how to haggle.
Neiman Marcus is outrageously overpriced. I tried to explain that the only things I would probably ever buy from NM would be cookies. They really do sell cookies. I wasn't making it up. Hm.
We went to BevMo! so that they could buy root beer. While we were checking out the bottles, one of the employees dropped a wine bottle or two. You could smell the alcohol. Kinda made me feel nauseous.
Light rail back to campus. Shiva's place. Watched some of the Superbowl. I had had no idea which teams were playing. But now I know. Also watched some more AMV Hell. Shiva fed me chunks of egg from her ramen because she is not skilled in the ways of egg-beating. Also, she was playing Ace Attorney (Reminded me of Kat and Jeisun's Phoenix Wright cosplay. Must find photos. Are they on Facebook or ACParadise?).
After the food, I walked with the two of them to the Music Building. They were going to a benefit concert for Haiti. I would have joined them, but I was late for leaving (7:00 PM).
So yeah, that was pretty much my day. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, crappy morning, shitty evening. But everything else in between was all right. And hey, I got most of my homework for this week done. Just need to print out one assignment, finish reading AAS stuff, buy the Linguistics course reader, and start my sociology stuff (once I figure out why the website won't open on my desktop).
Mm, there's a lot of stuff I wanna say. But I keep deleting and revising what I type. I can't get it out of my head.. This kinda sucks.

"The Spy Next Door"
Today, I went to the movies at Oakridge with Ayana and her two sisters. The sisters watched "Leap Year," while Ayana and I watched "The Spy Next Door." Not the movie I wanted to watch. However, I knew Ayana wouldn't want to watch "Daybreaker" haha XP I still remember when she and Olivia walked out of "Van Helsing" after twenty minutes :P
Mm, so the theater was packed with little kids @_@ I didn't think it would be that packed. Ayana and I had to sit down in the front. That's the third time I've had to sit that close to the screen. I still remember the first time was to watch "Inspector Gadget" and the second to watch "Ratatouille." Hm, always lil kiddie movies.
Anyway, I give TSND a 6/10 because, while I did have my laughs and the fight scenes were entertaining as always, the movie was overly corny and cliche. I could barely stand it XP Though, Nora, the youngest child, was totally adorable. Even if I don't really like kids and the little actress wasn't that good :P haha.
The actress who played the mom wasn't all that good either. Eh, I don't know why I'm dissecting a PG movie haha. Anyway, all I could really think about when I saw her on the screen was that she's the same actress from "Gamer" and "Premonition."
Hm, throughout the movie, all Ayana could really say was that Lucas Till was hott. I agreed. He really does look good :D And his fight scenes were pretty cool (the use of the chair was pretty cool). But his Russian accent bothered me.
Actually, all of the faux Russian accents were irksome. I know they were probably supposed to be funny, but they weren't to me. Maybe I'm just not that into the goofy villains anymore. I mean, I laughed, but eh -shrug-
Really though, I enjoyed the movie. Got me to laugh. I just don't want all these new kiddie movies to be so predictable :/ Maybe I'm just wanting too much out of a movie.
Anyway, you know I just realized how much parkour there is in Jackie Chan's movies :D That's just awesome. Amazing skills, even if he has to redo the scenes. Hey, at least he does pretty much all of his own stunts, having broken so many different bones in his career several times.
So after the movie, Ayana and I went to Target to meet up with her sisters in the DVD section. The three of them spent a while debating which Disney DVDs to purchase haha. Wow, really. So typical of Ayana. She's rebuilding her Disney collection. She settled on "Hannah Montana the Movie" and "High School Musical 3" haha. She also bought "Eagle Eye." That one surprised me. I didn't know she watched anything that wasn't G or PG haha.
Anyway, it was good to see her again. It feels like it's been a year since I last saw her. Her hair's hella short now. Well, shorter than I've ever seen. It's because she didn't take control of the situation with her hairstylist :P hahaha. You shouldn't have that much faith in people haha.
Mm, so I didn't go with Brian L and his friends to watch Imaginarium. All 'cause I didn't want to go to Milpitas. Nor did Mother want me to either. D is borrowing the Avalon. So the Cressida is parked in front of the house. But I can't drive it because Mother doesn't trust that car. Especially in the rain -shrug- Not like I'm really gonna go anywhere.
And ahhh, school starts next Tuesday :O I can't wait. I don't like being stuck at home. I just hope I don't stress way the fuck out this semester, especially after such an easy Fall semester. Ah, and I'll seriously be on campus all day four days a week. Should figure out what I'll do during my five-hour break on Mondays and Wednesdays. Maybe add a class. Maybe just partake in a class for fun. And I'll be on campus early on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well, even if I don't have classes then. I'll probably stay in the library or find people to provide me with shelter for a few morning hours haha. We'll see how that all works out.
It also seems that I won't be able to make the VSA meetings this semester. Again, grr. I might not even make it to QTIP meetings D: 'cause my class ends at 17h45 and is across campus from the BB Building (I'd be able to show up for maybe the last half of the meetings). I should work out the bike thing. See if Mother won't kill me for that idea. Still need to go buy a bike lock and lights -_- I haven't been taking the initiative to go buy things.
I don't know if I'll make the Q&A meetings because we haven't decided on meeting times yet. Hmph.
Oh, so I've started a "To Read" list today (to accompany my "To Watch" and "To Listen" lists). I've put down all the suggestions people have given me before (that I could remember): Brave New World, His Dark Materials, LOTR, Man's Search for Meaning. I don't have that many yet. Mm, so the theater was packed with little kids @_@ I didn't think it would be that packed. Ayana and I had to sit down in the front. That's the third time I've had to sit that close to the screen. I still remember the first time was to watch "Inspector Gadget" and the second to watch "Ratatouille." Hm, always lil kiddie movies.
Anyway, I give TSND a 6/10 because, while I did have my laughs and the fight scenes were entertaining as always, the movie was overly corny and cliche. I could barely stand it XP Though, Nora, the youngest child, was totally adorable. Even if I don't really like kids and the little actress wasn't that good :P haha.
The actress who played the mom wasn't all that good either. Eh, I don't know why I'm dissecting a PG movie haha. Anyway, all I could really think about when I saw her on the screen was that she's the same actress from "Gamer" and "Premonition."
Hm, throughout the movie, all Ayana could really say was that Lucas Till was hott. I agreed. He really does look good :D And his fight scenes were pretty cool (the use of the chair was pretty cool). But his Russian accent bothered me.
Actually, all of the faux Russian accents were irksome. I know they were probably supposed to be funny, but they weren't to me. Maybe I'm just not that into the goofy villains anymore. I mean, I laughed, but eh -shrug-
Really though, I enjoyed the movie. Got me to laugh. I just don't want all these new kiddie movies to be so predictable :/ Maybe I'm just wanting too much out of a movie.
Anyway, you know I just realized how much parkour there is in Jackie Chan's movies :D That's just awesome. Amazing skills, even if he has to redo the scenes. Hey, at least he does pretty much all of his own stunts, having broken so many different bones in his career several times.
So after the movie, Ayana and I went to Target to meet up with her sisters in the DVD section. The three of them spent a while debating which Disney DVDs to purchase haha. Wow, really. So typical of Ayana. She's rebuilding her Disney collection. She settled on "Hannah Montana the Movie" and "High School Musical 3" haha. She also bought "Eagle Eye." That one surprised me. I didn't know she watched anything that wasn't G or PG haha.
Anyway, it was good to see her again. It feels like it's been a year since I last saw her. Her hair's hella short now. Well, shorter than I've ever seen. It's because she didn't take control of the situation with her hairstylist :P hahaha. You shouldn't have that much faith in people haha.
Mm, so I didn't go with Brian L and his friends to watch Imaginarium. All 'cause I didn't want to go to Milpitas. Nor did Mother want me to either. D is borrowing the Avalon. Avatar, the movie
Entertaining, yes. Touching, maybe. Worth $13.50 for 3D, no.
I give it 7.5 or 8 out of 10. I haven't really decided, and yes there's a difference between 7.5 and 8. I liked it, but I thought the plot would be a lil bit more unpredictable. The movie had stereotypical characters. Or just characters that followed a stereotypical progress (you know, getting from ignorance to awareness). There was action, but I suppose not enough to satisfy the action junkie side of me :P
The CGI was quite amazing though. I also didn't know beforehand that this movie would be part live action, part CGI. I had thought it was going to be completely CGI. Anyway, the scenery and the fauna were just amazing and entrancing. This is where the 3D impressed me most. The panoramic view was just wow haha. The flora and fauna were so cool haha. I love that the plants light up upon touch. Just wonderful, you would never be alone in the dark.
I also didn't know that Sigourney Weaver was gonna be in this movie :D That was a pleasant surprise. I generally love the movies that she is in. Mm, Michelle Rodriguez was cool too. Though, I felt that her character Trudy added very little to the movie. Still, it's nice to know there are people/characters (aside from "treehuggers") who have consciences.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It almost made me cry at one point. But really, I think it was just that one scene of destruction that tore at me. Mm, I liked how the Na'vi (I forgot what they actually call themselves >_> it was a really long word) are connected to each other and the world around them. A sense of unity and serenity. Contrasts greatly with the imperial/enterprising side of human nature. I'm sure that was definitely one of the purposes of the movie :P If it wasn't obvious enough. I think all the morals that you would/should learn from this movie are more than obvious. Kinda just thrown in your face, like Disney movies do.
Really though, it's a great movie. I just wouldn't suggest you watch it in 3D unless you wanted to see the amazing scenery through 3D. Oh yeah, the 3D was also pretty cool when you're looking from the perspective of the soldiers in their suits -nods-
Ah, there's much more I could say about what I like, but I need to stop and go to bed.

Anyway, after the movie, some of us headed over to Andrew's to play Rumbajub (that's what it sounds like they were saying). Actually called Rummikub. Kiet also joined us. The game was interesting. So sad that I had to leave after the first game, but I had promised Mother that I would be home before 1. I'll come back for more sometime this week >_> I must plaayyy >_< !! Withdrawal! After just one game, ahhh. Why, Andrew, whhyyy?? A pretty good night. Ok day/morning/afternoon that I don't really remember. I got stuff done though, I'm sure. Not sure how the rest of my break's gonna be. I really need to do more than just sit in front of the computer. Maybe get a headstart on those resolutions XP Need to get out -_-

Watched Ninja Assassin...
Went to Eastridge with Shiva and Brian L today for a couple of hours. The movie was all right. I'm sure it would have been a great movie if we didn't know enough about ninjas and if the movie wasn't so... stereotypical haha. Plot-wise, I think the movie was just ok, not very developed. Action-wise, some awesome effects, but the sequences were much too short. And I wish I had glow-in-the-dark blood haha.
Much more than movie-watching happened today, but I'm just too tired to think about everything. Overall, ok day. Movie, mall, and time on campus were good times. Everything else was just unbearable. My fault though. I'm just selfish.. and stupid.. Why can't I be better? I wish I was better than this.

PG mind rape
That is what Disney movies are. At least the oldies :P Claudia, Harrison, and I had a whole conversation about that. And other, morbid topics :P
Anyway, we went to Eastridge. Watched "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" and "Paranormal Activity."
Cirque was entertaining. It was better than I thought it would be. I'm not expecting much out of vampire movies or really any movie, especially those based on books. And I always expect to not really like John C Reilly's movies. I don't know why. But at least I was pleasantly surprised this time. Never seen him outside of a completely comedic role. Should watch his serious movies.
And I didn't know Josh Hutcherson was gonna be in the movie. Wow. I was distracted by his deep voice. I didn't know he hit puberty already haha. I'm so used to his young-ness from like "Bridge to Terabithia" and "Zathura."
Anyway, Mr Tiny creeped me out haha. I didn't know if that was how the actor looked in real life or not. But apparently not.
And I knew Evra looked like Patrick Fugit. I knew it!
And Salma Hayek. Hot as always. Funny what happens when she gets turned on hahaha.
Hm, I feel like the movie moved too fast. According to Claudia, they're fitting three books into one movie because the book series is twelve books long.
The ending had no closure, obviously leading to a sequel. That's fine, but it's not "American." We Americans sure love our closure. haha jk. The movie just felt rushed, cramped.
Overall, the movie was fun and amusing, lots of laughs. I'll probably watch the other two movies when they come out.
Paranormal, on the other hand, was quite interesting. I was expecting something really terrifying, like it would haunt my nightmares for the next two weeks. That's how many of my friends depicted the film, imo. Of course, a few people said it wasn't scary. But I gave the movie the benefit of a doubt when I walked into the theatre.
Before we went into the theatre, the people who left the showing before ours seemed to be very fascinated and impressed by the movie. I was hopeful.
So there was a total of four actors and actresses in the entire movie. Amazing. The acting was convincing. The effects were amateur, cliché, but still pretty awesome. The movie went along a bit slow (I found myself yawning a few times), but the plot was wonderful (though not too original).
Overall, a decent movie. Not the best, not the scariest. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't WOWed either. I wasn't surprised by anything. At the most, I twitched a little when Katie was pulled out of her bed. Everything else that happened in the movie, I was already guessing. Some of my guesses were just ill-timed.
Despite not scaring my pants off, the movie did impress me. It took a slightly different approach to the horror genre. Many scary movies now just try to hit you with fierce horror from beginning to end. Paranormal, however, builds up the horror. At first, it's really small things that a normal person might notice. For example, a bump in the night. The entity slowly builds up its aggression and whatnot.
What the movie could have done better was build up the horror even more. Though, I don't know how it could. I mean, I can think of a few things to add in, but there's not much you can do with a house.
I don't know. The movie strays from the typical horrors, but it somehow still stays within the lines.
It could just be me, but I feel like I was the only one who wasn't terrified at all in the theatre. I'm only slightly disappointed by that. But it's ok. The movie made me think. Because I know it's a movie, I'm not scared. But if simple shit like that happened to me in real life, I would be freaked out too.
Also, the reason I say I was the only one not terrified is everyone else in the theatre screamed or laughed nervously. I didn't scream or cringe. I only laughed when people screamed. Claudia didn't scream either, but she did gasp a few times haha. Harrison, big man he is, screamed. Twice.
All in all, such a fun day haha. More movies please. Preferably for free haha. I don't have much money to spend XP Hmm, maybe a horror marathon on Halloween :D Anyone up for it? I know Harrison and Claudia would be. Just need a place and movies. And more people.

Funny People and catching up...
Went to the mall with Tuan today. First time we chilled in two years. Funny People was a good movie. Click was better, but this was good. Funny when I didn't expect it to be funny. Awkward when I didn't expect it to be awkward.
Afterward, we visited Josh at the Pizza Hut Express haha. Then Tuan and I went to the Loving Hut. He ate. I had already eaten at Pizza Hut. Anyway, we sat in front of Loving Hut for like two hours talking about random stuff, mostly about the Saw series haha. Some guy was asking for donations for charity. Went back to visit Josh again.
Then I had to leave -_-
Overall, today was chill. Hella random conversations. Pot, drinking, dating, etc etc....
Oh, I forgot the charity guy haha. I gave him a ten. Tuan took the ten, said we'd split the donation, and gave the guy a five hahahaha. It was hella funny. I corrected him. He gave the ten back, and I took the five :P Fun stuff, fun stuff. Tuan almost gypped the donation guy and me XP
Anyway, we plan to chill again this week. With Josh. Maybe Kevin. We'll see what happens.

"The Ugly Truth" and Chili's
Hmm, today I woke up at 0800. Drove to OG around 1100 to buy a philosophy textbook from a dude who goes to SJSU and used to go to OG. Talked a bit about classes and selling books. Then I went home. Watched the first episode of ABDC season 3. I'm catching up! Then I watched National Treasure: The Book of Secrets. Fun stuff.
Later, my mom drove me down to lil Nancy's place. Watched The Ugly Truth with her and her cousin, Anna, from Germany (I learned a bit about Germany). Ate at Chili's for the first time.
So the movie was cool. I didn't really know what it was about. But it turned out to be a pretty funny movie. And as always, Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler are awesome :) Love love love their movies (that I've watched so far). Wish Upon A Star. Knocked Up. 27 Dresses. 300. PS I Love You.
Want to update more, but I have to go pick up my brother. He's finally getting out, even though most of the summer has passed :( Oh well. Let's hope all goes well, yeah?

Movie and a movie...
Eastridge today with Claudia. I was a little late because I had to buy food for Mother.
Got to the mall a bit after 1300. Missed the IMAX showing. Got tickets to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at 1400 instead. Walked around the mall a bit. Talked. Watched the movie.
Pretty awesome movie. I would have to agree with sxephil's take on the movie (btw, sxephil is a YouTuber). As a Michael Bay flick, it did not fail. As a movie in general, it was just ok. But lots of laughs. Megan Fox, awesome :P Isabel Lucas, smokin' as well hahaha. The wankster autobots were ok, not that hilarious. I was shocked, SHOCKED, about what happened to OP.
Overall, the movie was fun :P
But, of course, I'm easily entertained.
After the movie let out, Claudia and I stayed in for a while. We decided to leave when the theatre employees needed to clean up the theatre. Walked toward the entrance. Sat down in front of one of those opaque windows for half an hour. Conversed about movies (I want to watch G.I. Joe and 2012) and school (language classes are a hassle in college).
At 1725, we started walking back toward the rooms, looking for Up @ 1740. Found it. The room was being cleaned. Claudia bought a pretzel because I urged her to buy food :P Then we watched the movie.
I've been hearing about how all my friends cried within the first ten minutes of the movie. Ten minutes, I was sad. It was heartbreaking. But I didn't cry. My eyes got a little watery, but I didn't cry. I might have been fighting it, who knows? But I didn't cry :P Sad movie. Good one. I really sympathized with Carl. And Russel grew on me. And heh, it took me a few minutes to realize he was Asian XP Not used to main Asian characters in cartoons or anything like that.

Anyway, Happy Fourth of July. I hear the police are putting out as many sobriety check points as possible.
Oh yeah, that was my first movie hopping experience. So exciting. I feel so cool. Yeah, ok.
Got to the mall a bit after 1300. Missed the IMAX showing. Got tickets to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at 1400 instead. Walked around the mall a bit. Talked. Watched the movie.
Pretty awesome movie. I would have to agree with sxephil's take on the movie (btw, sxephil is a YouTuber). As a Michael Bay flick, it did not fail. As a movie in general, it was just ok. But lots of laughs. Megan Fox, awesome :P Isabel Lucas, smokin' as well hahaha. The wankster autobots were ok, not that hilarious. I was shocked, SHOCKED, about what happened to OP.
Overall, the movie was fun :P
But, of course, I'm easily entertained.
After the movie let out, Claudia and I stayed in for a while. We decided to leave when the theatre employees needed to clean up the theatre. Walked toward the entrance. Sat down in front of one of those opaque windows for half an hour. Conversed about movies (I want to watch G.I. Joe and 2012) and school (language classes are a hassle in college).
At 1725, we started walking back toward the rooms, looking for Up @ 1740. Found it. The room was being cleaned. Claudia bought a pretzel because I urged her to buy food :P Then we watched the movie.
I've been hearing about how all my friends cried within the first ten minutes of the movie. Ten minutes, I was sad. It was heartbreaking. But I didn't cry.
