Earlier this month, I applied for the computer assembler/tester position at King Star Computer, Inc. via Craigslist. They contacted me on Friday, and we had a mini phone interview. We had the in-person interview today right after I got out of work. I somehow made it from Fremont to Sunnyvale in less than thirty minutes :D
I'm always so nervous during interviews, but today I was relatively calm on the inside haha. I managed to impress two people at KSC. About twenty minutes after I left the building, I got a call telling me that they would like to offer me the job. I have until Wednesday to accept the job offer.
Thirteen and a half miles away from home. Will save about $25 a month on gas; not much, but it's something. Will make $10.00 an hour. Up $1.50 from my current job. And this would be a permanent job. Small company; only about thirty employees. The job actually allows me to build something. Rackmount servers. Basically computers of varing sizes. I think the company's mainly full of Chinese employees. Hopefully, I won't be too awkward haha.
I forgot to ask about what the hours and benefits are. But I called and left a message about that info with my interviewer. Hopefully, I'll find out about that stuff tomorrow and maybe even give them my answer then.
This will probably be a 9 to 5 job, meaning I'll actually have to deal with serious traffic. But it's all good.
I will continue looking for other jobs. But I'm gonna see what I can learn and gain from KSC if I do ultimately take this job. I can't wait to learn how to build a computer :D and how to do a bunch of other stuff because being a small company means all employees contribute in every way necessary.
In other news, KPI, my current employer, is training me for more advanced jobs. I don't like it because the advanced jobs mainly involve thoroughly checking tiny little parts. I like working the machines more. And I've learned that I can't really use microscopes very well; My eyes won't focus properly. I can only see through one eye when I use the microscope -_- It's annoying. And slow. Oh well.
Oh, and darn my forgetfulness. My car battery died today. I had left my headlights on for two hours in front of the house. When I went to my car to go to dinner with Brother and Karina, I couldn't unlock my car. When I manually unlocked the door, my car alarm went off and wouldn't turn off. I thought my key fob had run out of battery, but then my car wouldn't start. So I figured out what happened. Brother brought D over with jumper cables, and they jumpstarted my car with Karina's car. That was all fun.
Afterward, Brother, Karina, and I went to eat at San Pedro Square. Turns out an acquaintance of mine from Q&A is co-owner of Phonomenal and silent partner of On A Roll. Got a discount on our pho :D Then got Treatbot. Marielle was working tonight. Hadn't seen her in at least two years probably. I saw her and thought I recognized her but wasn't sure. But it turned out to be her. And she gave me a free double scoop :)
Today ended well. I'm happy. I hope tomorrow will go just as well if not better.
Not too much else has been happening. I've been reading more lately. It's nice to get back into reading for fun :) Oh, it also rained today. Supposed to rain tomorrow too. Fun. Always strange to see rain during the summer. I think it's cool though. As long as it's not pouring. I don't want high humidity. No saunas for me XP
Anyway, way past my bedtime. Need sleep! Good night, folks!

Last two weeks of 2010...
Finals have been interesting. I pretty much spent most of every weekday this week with Shiva haha.
Slept over Sunday and Thursday nights.
Social Theory final on Monday was difficult as expected. Shiva and I were almost a split-second late to the 7h30 final.
On Tuesday, I hung out with Shiva in between her finals and after. After her Psych final, we hung out in her classroom so that she could get her score for the exam (which she didn't). Talked to her Indian prof about us XP I felt kinda awkward.
On Wednesday (our free day), I was supposed to go to campus to hang out with Shiva. However, I had to stay home all day because I did something idiotic the night before. I left my key in the front door all night. Totally forgot about my keys ;-; It was bad. Wednesday morning, Mother woke up and went outside. She saw the keys and freaked out. She's been telling all her friends about it ever since -_- She got hella paranoid, thinking someone got my keys, copied them, and then returned them to the door o_o I don't know why they would do that. I'd just try to break in right then and there. But anyway, yeah, that was fun -_-
So on Wednesday, Shiva came to my house instead. At first, it was just to hang out. But Mother asked if Shiva wanted to sleep over again. So Shiva slept over :P (Hm, we did a lot of sleeping this week). We watched "Repo Men" and "3 Idiots." Fun stuff :)
Shiva and I were up early on Thursday because I had my 100W final at 9h45. Yay, light rail. Final was simple. An analysis of an argument. Also got back my research paper. A, yay. Spent the rest of the day in Shiva's room.
Friday, woke up early for 7h15 final. My PHIL 57 final was much more difficult than I thought. Two essays and two truth tables. The essays were unexpected >_> I think I forgot to mention stuff in them. Oh well. Spent the rest of the day helping Shiva clean stuff out of her room. Took some of it home for myself XP
I don't remember if we were packing and cleaning on Thursday x_x How sad.
Anyway, we went to Christmas in the Park again with Q&A. Yay, rain that slowly builds up force (sadness for Shiva not wanting to share my umbrella with me ;-;). Finally saw the QTIP tree. Walked around a bit looking at trees and stuff. Shiva and I stopped by Bank of America haha. Met up with Killol. Listened to the carolers on the stage for a bit. Then Shiva and I left the group to go back to campus. On the way back, we stopped in an expensive bakery to get an eclair and a chocolate-dipped madeleine. Tasty.
Around 19h00, D came to drive Shiva and me to the SJ airport. Rain and darkness. And some confusion. Dropped Shiva off a little ways off from her entrance because we didn't know where to stop haha. Massive hugs and "miss you's" before I got back in the car and Shiva went on her way.
Anyway, yeah, I don't really remember everything that's happened this week. But that's ok. Maybe Shiva will fill in some details XD haha.... Oh, ate at the DC quite often this week.
Oh, yesterday, or rather Friday night, I forgot my wallet was still in my jeans and threw it all into the wash ): Yesterday, Mother found it before it went in the dryer. She got mad at me and my absentmindedness. Paper stuff were all ruined. Threw out all the business cards except one or two. Brother's photo got words inked onto it from a piece of a paper I had. Mother was angry about that too; bad luck. So she prayed and then tore the picture to discard it. Luckily, there were still three more of that picture. Senior ball photo was wet but ok. Back into the wallet haha. Now, my wallet is still slightly damp but lighter :P
I feel like I'm forgetting too many things this week. Keys, wallet. Reminds me of all the times I forgot other things that couldn't be saved ): Jackets, hats, iPod, cash.. So sad.
Random: Yay for repealing DADT!
Anyway, yesterday (Saturday), I spent all day organizing some of my music files and my desk, yay. Realized I should sell my textbooks soon. Watched "Memento."
Today, I got up and started organizing my room. Spent about five hours going through my backpack and my drawers. Tossing stuff out. Putting things in different, neater places. I don't remember if I gave all my junk away, but the bag of stuff that I had wanted to give away is missing. Still need to get rid of water color markers and paint(?). Re-discovered my wristbands, bandannas, and arm warmers. Stickers and stick-on tattoos! :D All from my childhood. Got rid of some of them though. Too many tiny pieces of stickers and such. Put on like three of the tattoos XD 'cause I'm awesome like that.
Also realized how long my hair has gotten o: It's crazy. But it's gonna be cut off hopefully this next summer.
Anyway, feels so nice to have an organized room. Even if Mother will probably disorganize it after the next laundry load.
Been reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. It's pretty awesome. I wish my brain could follow and solve complex codes.
So that's all I can remember from this week up until today. Gonna watch another movie tonight, read some more, and sleep early. Wake up early tomorrow, maybe get a head start on my term paper. Oh, Mother bought a buche de noel again XD Mmmm, tasty.
Five weeks till Brother is out :O So soon. Shiva will be back in three weeks. Almost everyone who's come back from college will be leaving in two weeks, or right after New Year's D: Christmas in less than a week.
Can't think of anything else to say right now. So I'll leave it here. Oh, I should put up resolutions or something soon. I'll do that in the next entry, if I remember.
Joyeux Noel!

Nearing the end of Fall 2010
Tomorrow's my last day of classes. Then three days of finals next week: Monday, Thursday, and Friday. That's gonna be fun. At least my hardest final will be out of the way on Monday.
This week has been ok so far. Haven't done too much.
Turned in my term paper for 100W today. Oh, one of my classmates, Kenya, had to do a presentation (the last one), and she was just having a lot of trouble with stuff. Stuff was falling out of her backpack, her laptop was dying, the projector wouldn't connect to her laptop, emailing her powerpoint to another classmate took the longest time, and Kenya was just really frustrated and stuff. I felt bad, but I didn't know how to help ):
Mm, tomorrow, I have Social Theory and Philosophy of Religion, yay. Will probably get the take-home final for Philosophy.
I'm so happy I don't have any homework to worry about tonight. I'll start worrying about finals this weekend XD
Gender Bender Dance thingy this Saturday, yay! Though, I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it if my headache and back ache don't go away D:
Ahh, I feel like Winter Break is gonna go by just as fast as this past semester has. At the least, I hope I feel well-rested when school starts at the end of January.
Anyway, Christmas is getting closer. Do I have a wish list this year? No, not really. I need shoes and underwear. Then I'll be set for the new year haha.
Today, I found out that my shoes, particularly my left, are worn at the heel and ball of the foot. It was raining today. I avoided the puddles, but I could feel the bottom of the toes of my foot and my sock getting wet really quickly -_- With no puddles around, I'd take a few steps, and my sock would get wet in the same spot. So this Friday, Shiva and I are planning to go to the mall, so that I can buy new shoes. These Fallen shoes have only lasted about a year and a half :O Not that long, even though I usually get new shoes every year.
But seriously, I don't wanna ask for anything this year. I dunno what to ask for either. I am quite happy with what (and whom) I have now. I'm relatively happy, especially at this time of the year, even if Brother isn't home to celebrate holidays and birthdays with.
Anyway, I guess, for Christmas this year, I want... to be happy, to not be so stressed out about school, family, and life. If I could have that for Christmas Day, I think I'll be okay.
2011 coming soon... in about three weeks :O So soon. Ahhh... crazy. I wonder if I'll partake in any New Year's festivities. If I do, I'm sure I won't drink alcohol at all.
Resolutions? Probably none. Or one or two. I remember I said that I would probably try to stay away from making a list of resolutions. Though, I still have my 2010 list in my wallet. I think I've actually accomplished more than half of them :) Yay.
If I decide to make a resolution or two, what should I try to accomplish by the start of 2012? Not gonna say "get a girlfriend" XD haha 'cause I already got an amazing and beautiful girl :3 Maybe I should try "find a job" again haha. "Go to Anime Expo 2011" XD "Apply for graduation. Make plans for post-grad." "Read more books," though it seems I'm gonna have plenty to read next semester x_x Oh, I know a good resolution: "Make Shiva happy." :) That sounds like a good one, doesn't it? I think so.
I'll put up my resolution(s) by New Year's Eve. Probably.
Anyway, I should go to bed soon. Should sleep early-ish for once haha...

First rainy day of the season
Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike wet socks? If not, well now I have. It's just so uncomfortable. I avoid all puddles if possible. I ended up walking through two deep puddles :( Wet socks, ugh. All other puddles, I managed to elude.
Rain all day. There was like a ten-minute break in the downpour around 14h00. Man, my clothes were soaking wet from 8h30 until 18h45 when I got home. Ten hours in wet clothes, definitely not good for my health.
Hm, I almost lost my iPod today. It fell out of my jacket during Philosophy. If I had lost it, I would have cried. Lost my ring yesterday. Could not lose something else. So I nearly left the building before I realized that my iPod wasn't in my pocket. Ran back to the classroom. Luckily, people were still there.
During my "lunch" break, I hung out with Rose and her friends for like twenty minutes in the bowling alley (I never knew where that was before). Then I chilled with Harrison in the library. Did my reading. Went to do my physics lab.
The power went out during the lab at 14h30. Instructor told us if the power wasn't on by 15h00, we could go home. We were all excited and leaving the building. Sadly, the power came back on at 14h33 haha. I heard SJCC and De Anza lost power too.
Anyway, after lab, I went straight to the LGBT Center. Dry, yay. Sat with Alex L and Matt C and did homework. Jeff L did a little strut/tease for us haha :P Tri joined us a little later. Talked about a bunch of stuff. Majors, music, gay things haha.
The QTIP meeting lasted about fifteen minutes. Not many people showed up. Just officers and like seven other members. Oh well, Tim (I think that's his name) talked about a new LGBT nightclub opening up in Sunnyvale. It's called Guilty Pleasures haha. Age: 18+. $5 for 21+, $10 for 18-20. But if you call Tim and ask him to put you on the guestlist, you get $5 off. So it can be free for 21+ or $5 for 18-20. Soo, yeah, I have his number if anyone wants to go. I probably won't go just because I don't go clubbing and I don't see how I can.
Mm, Q&A Movie Night tomorrow. "Saving Face." @ 19h00. @ CVB RAC A. Fun stuff :) Totally free.
Hmm, I'm done with all my homework for this week, yay! I can rest early or something. Ooh, gotta watch Heroes now. Then sleep!
