Role Conflicts and Defining Moments?

I've been so sad. No minutes on my phone until the 19th, except for nights, weekends, and mobile-to-mobile T-T The last minute was used on like the 4th haha.

Anyway, this past weekend has been full of ups and downs. Mostly ups. Or at least I focused on the ups as best I could.

Friday, the plan had been to go eat a late dinner and karaoke with Kat, Ariane, Andrew, and Shiva. Though, I wasn't able to tell Shiva that dinner had been pushed back from 17h30 to 21h00, until she came back from Santa Cruz and could use her cell phone; so she didn't eat anything after noon, thinking that dinner would be at 17h30. Other than that, there were no hitches as of 16h00. Mother had been ok with my plan. Everything was supposed to work out fine.

Then there was a minor hitch with rides. Shiva couldn't be picked up from campus as I had originally thought. The suggestion was that she should light rail to south San Jose, and Ariane would drive all of us to Santa Clara for dinner and karaoke. But Shiva hadn't gotten enough sleep the night before; though she took a nap, neither Shiva nor I wanted her going on the light rail. So I figured I could borrow Mother's car and drive Shiva back to my house; maybe I could even drive her to dinner. I called Mother to ask, and she said it was ok. I just had to wait for her to come home.

Things were looking good. Then Mother came home. I asked her about the car, and she got annoyed, mad at me for going to dinner and karaoke so late. I don't know why; I've done it before with pretty much the same people, and she was fine with it then. And she also knew that dinner was going to be late. I don't know why she got mad at me. Then she said she would drive me to pick up Shiva, instead of letting me drive. "You shouldn't drive at night. You'll crash!" Why are we back to this? -_- I've driven at night before.

Mother also wanted to go to Costco after picking up Shiva. But I realized, at that point in time, if she drove to campus, then back home, and then to Costco, it would have wasted gas and she might not have gotten to Costco by the time it closed. And just saying, in my house, Mother wanting to go to Costco is just as important as me wanting to go out with my friends.

I told Shiva about how the whole driving thing seemed to be working out. She didn't want to inconvenience my friends or Mother, so she offered to not join my friends and me D: I couldn't have that, especially if she hadn't eaten because she had planned to eat with us. She had things to tell me, but she insisted it was fine if I went with my friends. We kinda talked it out. I figured I only had a few options, none of which I really liked: I get Mother to drive, we'll waste gas, and she probably won't get to Costco; I eat with friends, and Shiva does not join us; or I eat with Shiva, and I won't see my friends. Or I could have stayed home and not see anyone. But that last one, I really didn't like.

A few other personal issues came up, that I had to take into consideration. And Mother was not getting any happier by the minute >_<

So I decided I would go eat with my friends and see Shiva the next day.

But my decision bothered me. I started thinking:
If Shiva's not coming with me, none of her roommates are home, and she doesn't have any food in the apartment, then she'll eat alone ): My friends, on the other hand, will still have each other to eat with, if I don't go. But I realize I've been the one telling Kat that we should hang out >_< But Shiva hasn't eaten anything for more than six hours because of me.

I changed my mind. I was going to see Shiva. I care about my friends, and I want to hang out with them. But Shiva's going to be alone. Even though she said she would be ok, I was worried anyway. I wanted to see her Friday to make sure she was all right and to see if her retreat had been good because she had been worried about it before.

So yeah, I changed my mind. Mother was happy. I wasn't going out of the city. I wasn't going to come home after midnight. I was gonna be somewhere safe, somewhere I've gone often. She had preferred that I sleep over at Shiva's on campus rather than go to another city to eat and sing. It made Mother happier, and it also meant I wouldn't come home and disturb her sleep because she has a difficult time getting to sleep late. And I can't get into the house without waking her up because she uses the door latch at night -_- Anyway, yeah. She rushed me out of the house as soon as I said, "I'll go to campus and stay there, so you won't have to drive back and forth twice."

On the drive to campus, I texted Kat and Ariane, telling them that Shiva and I weren't going anymore. Tried to explain why in 160 characters or less, which wasn't easy. Ariane seemed frustrated or angry in her replies >_< She said that it would be ok to drive Shiva if we pitched in gas money, but at this point I was already at campus and lost the mood to karaoke. Kat offered to switch from singing karaoke to watching a movie in theaters in San Jose. Shiva and I were fine with it if we could get a ride, since we were both on campus at this point, heading to Tandoori Oven to eat. But I received no more replies after 20h40, so I figured they all decided to go without us and/or they were mad/upset at me for ditching them or leaving already <_<

I felt bad. But when I had initially decided to go eat with my friends, I was feeling worse that Shiva would be by herself. And I thought, "If I'm gonna be with my friends and thinking about Shiva eating alone or not at all, I'm gonna be worried all night, and I don't know how much fun I'll have."

And honestly, this was an afterthought that occurred when I was trying to go to sleep Friday night: I want to spend as much time with Shiva as I can these next four or so months. Because after she graduates in May, I have no idea when I will actually get to hold her again. We'll probably end up in a long-distance relationship, and I just wanna see her when I can and make our moments together last as long as possible....

So Kat, Ariane, and Andrew, I don't know if you read this, but I'm sorry for bailing on you at the last minute. Sorry, Kat, since it was my last chance to see you before you went back to Harvard. It was messed up on my part 'cause I said I'd go and then I didn't. I hope you don't think I didn't hang out with you just because she's my girlfriend. That wasn't it. I really did try to think this through and find what all the pros and cons were for all the decisions. In the end, I figured that it would be better if everyone was with someone, even if it wasn't with everyone they had wanted. Yeah, I probably could have done things better, but I didn't. Sorry if it upset you, but I made my decision to go. I don't regret it. And I hope you guys had fun that night without me.

So yeah, I hung out with Shiva. We talked. She shared a lil bit about what happened at Leadership Today, the retreat she went on. The first thing she told me about, how she introduced the topic made me stop and sweat a little because I thought someone had gotten seriously injured and she mentioned a name of a professor I know. But what had happened was not as tragic but still really terrible. And it had impacted Shiva greatly, as did the rest of the retreat...

Before she shared more about LT, we went to eat at The Tandoori Oven. Saag paneer and cholay bhature (looked it up on their website just now). Definitely can't read or pronounce any of that well, but that's ok XD Tasty. Took some of both home.

The rest of the night, because I hadn't received any more texts, I was worried that my friends were angry at me ;-; especially since I've never had this kinda conflict before and stuff. Shiva was worried that my friends would dislike her because they'd think she took me away from them (Same thing's happened to her in regard to me. I'm still not that well-liked, I guess heh <_<;). I assured her that if that's what they thought, I would tell them the truth that I had decided on my own without any influence from her. I had even initially told her that I was gonna eat with my friends. But anyway, I tried to reassure Shiva that my friends wouldn't dislike her for Friday because she wasn't the one who decided what I was going to do.

After that, we just laid in bed and talked. Or mostly Shiva did. LT was good for her :) I'm so glad. She had been worried about it, but it turned out to be "life-inspiring" as she put it. I was really happy to hear it.

And I'm just gonna say that the conversation in her room that night, along with all our other conversations during the night, made my night better :3 I was surprised and confused XD I didn't know what to say or think. I was just like O_O I'm still not sure haha XD Kinda. I dunno. I don't think I'm thinking enough haha. Wasn't sure what to think. But I know I was happy :)

Went to sleep pretty early. But I woke up soon after, thinking and worrying. I didn't get much sleep >_> Was thinking about how to apologize and stuff like that. But eventually I realized all I could apologize for was the not showing up when I said I would. No apologizing for not leaving Shiva to be by herself. No apologizing for all the good stuff that happened Friday night. I can't explain the good things, but it just made me really happy.

Saturday, we woke up kinda early. Shiva had planned to go with Michelle W to the mall because Michelle wanted someone to accompany her as she got a naval piercing. Shiva wanted me to stay in her room to sleep -_- Instead, I tagged along.

Michelle drove us to Valley Fair. Went to the body piercing shop, Body Jewelz, I think. Checked out the piercings and stuff. Then when Michelle got her piercing, Shiva and I recorded it and her reaction on two cameras XD So funny. The guy who did the piercing was nice and funny, making fun of us XP We know the three of us don't look older than 18 haha.

After the piercing, Shiva and I bought a caramel pecanbon from Cinnabon. Tasty, but so unhealthy. Michelle drove us back to campus. Shiva and I spent the rest of the day in her dorm. For some reason, the order of the things we did isn't in my head o_o;

I remember watching "Iron Man 2." It wasn't very good. The plot wasn't all that interesting. The final fight scene was so quick. I was hoping it would redeem some of the movie, but it didn't. The main villain wasn't very convincing either. I dunno. The movie was off, didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the first movie.

I also remember eating leftover cholay bhature. The frame of my glasses broke. Shiva fixed it with tape <_< so I look more like a geek now (When I went home on Sunday, I actually re-taped it. So I probably look a little geekier). Shiva talked about LT some more. Sadly, I can't remember what else we did Saturday other than talk and stuff.

Sunday, we were awoken by a early morning phone call from Shiva's aunt. Learned that Shiva's paternal grandfather had died. Her aunt was trying to reach Shiva's dad. I couldn't do anything but hold Shiva. I didn't know what to say. I haven't experienced the death of someone close to me, unless you count Earl. But anyway, yeah, we were awake then. Shiva talked about her grandfather. I listened, hoping I knew what I could say. Nothing really came out.

I fell back to sleep, and Shiva left the room. I woke an hour later, and Shiva wasn't back. So I walked out to the living room, and she was there, using her computer. I sat with her. We looked at textbook prices. She's got 11 books she needs for her classes next semester. So fun <_<

Watched "The Kids Are All Right." Not what we expected. Much more sex than we liked. Thought the movie would be more family-focused, but no. The only character Shiva and I felt sympathy for was Nic. But other than that, we thought the characters were underdeveloped. I think the ending was a quick, "happy" ending. Closure, but not real closure.

After the movie, we took a bus to Safeway, since Shiva had almost no food in her kitchen. Earlier, I had called Mother to ask her to pick us up from Safeway. I told her it would take at least an hour and a half in Safeway for us to get stuff, but she misunderstood me. So while Shiva and I were in Safeway, Mother and D came an hour early. Mother kept calling me, asking if we were done. We were not. She was getting frustrated. So I had to cut the grocery shopping short. Mother came into the store to look for us too -_- Went and paid for everything. Went out to the car. D was driving because Mother didn't know the area. Drove back to campus. Helped Shiva carry all the stuff back up. Then left.

In the car, Mother just yelled at me for helping my friends too much. "Why are you so good to your friends? One day, they're going to turn on you. They won't help you when you really need them to. They haven't helped you with anything. How could you ignore our family and help your friends? Don't you care about us? You're just gonna ignore us and let our house be destroyed." She said things like this, among other negative things I care not to mention. While she's spilling all this babble, I was just thinking, "Well, when I do help you, all you do is get mad at me for not doing it all the time or not doing it correctly. Then you yell at me to stop and you do it yourself. So what am I supposed to do? I'm supposed to just stick around, do things for you while you talk about how lazy, unhelpful, or ungrateful I am, and be happy about how much good I'm doing for the family?"

I know I'm probably in the wrong for some of the things I do. But being angry and yelling at me all the time isn't gonna help me make 'better' decisions. It just makes me wish other things would happen..

I know I probably focused more on the negative stuff. But trust me, there were a lot of positives this weekend. I just can't help but feel like the good stuff that happen to me tend to end in negative crap.

There were good times this weekend. Little to no worries. I can't explain how things were good. I'm so bad with words haha. But the conversations, the words, were unexpected but really good.

Oh haha, Shiva's been trying to convince me that I should go to Leadership Today next year. I'll think about it. I had kinda wanted to go to this year's retreat, but the timing just didn't work out. Hopefully, next year's timing will be better. I wouldn't mind being inspired, you know. But who knows if I will be? I have a hard time believing in inspiration.

But anyway, yeah, that was my weekend. Kinda. Ups and downs. Trying to focus on the ups, but the downs have weight.

Not sure what I mean by my title anymore haha. Just something from inside my head... There are no explanations there right now haha.

Ice skating, yay!

So today, I woke up at 9h00, got up at 9h15, and was ready to leave at 10h30. Warm clothing included jeans, hoodie, arm warmers, beanie cap, and bandanna :P Kept me quite warm.

Lisa picked me up around 11h15. Got to Logitech Ice (Sharks Ice) around 11h35. Albert and Christine were already there. Got caught up with them; it's been quite a while since we actually hung out. Amy wasn't there because she was sick ): Sad.

So the four of us went in and paid $12 to skate and to rent skates. At first, we all got the regular blue skates. They felt weird and made me feel like I was out of balance. Even when I wasn't on the ice. Felt weird that the blades weren't straight on the shoes but slightly diagonal. Most of the weight had to be placed on the outside of my foot. Skated like that for a while. But Albert and I couldn't get it very well haha. So we switched to hockey skates 'cause I'm relatively more comfortable with those.

Got to skate for about two hours. Ankles hurt because of the first pair of skates. Knee hurt a bit because I was straining for balance throughout the session haha. Realized my right hockey skate was rubbing too much against the back of my calf. Sat down and checked it. Rubbed raw T-T but only a small area. Took off one of my arm warmers and cushioned the back of my leg, but it still stung a little ):

During the skating, I talked with everyone a bit. About school, graduation, the shooting in Tucson, etc.

Anyway, we were done skating at 13h30. Decided to go to lunch, but took a while to decide where. Drove to the nearest plaza. Because we weren't making a decision haha, I said, "Ok, someone, take a step in a direction toward food." Christine took a step and led us to Panera Bread XD Yay, sandwiches haha. I got a hot panini (tomato and mozarella on ciabatta bread), an apple, and an iced chai tea latte. Tasty and healthy :D Haha Lisa got extra chicken noodle soup for free. Why does she keep getting free food? >_>

Hm, I wonder if it's always gonna rain every time we go ice skating haha. It rained on the day we went ice skating last year too.

Anyway, I was home by 15h00. Early haha.

Today was fun :)

Yay for Winchesters!

I wish I could come up with creative entry titles all the time haha, but I'm not that creative XP

So, I haven't been doing too much since 2011 started. Didn't hang out with anyone. Skyped with Shiva every day. Did not get up early except for the first day of the year XD Also slowly working on my term paper for SOCI 116, but only because Shiva won't give me kisses if I don't finish by Friday ;-;

Anyway, Shiva came back to SJ yesterday. I asked D to pick her up. He obliged :D

Mother, D, and I drove around SJ for a while. Looked at homes, or rather neighborhoods. Mother wants to move this year, after we get Brother a room and he gets settled in. I'm game for moving, I guess. I mean I want to move out of this house 'cause Mother has problems with the landlady and I'd rather live closer to campus. But the hard part is finding a good place. Mother wants to move to North SJ or Milpitas. I'm cool with that as long as there's a light rail stop nearby. Mother also wants a spacious house, which is difficult to find especially if we're looking at two-bedroom homes. Not very often that you find a two-bedroom house. So we're looking at apartments that are in the so-called style of a townhouse. Fun.

Anyway, around 16h00, the three of us went to In N Out to eat a quick meal before driving to the airport. While waiting for the food, I saw Maggie's little brother Tommy haha. I thought, "Why does this lil kid look so familiar? ... Ohh, hey, that's Maggie's brother." Yeaah, anyway, the food was good :P

Around 17h05, Shiva finally called. Such a long delay :O Kept me waiting in anticipation XP Got to the airport and picked Shiva up :) Back to campus. Yay for sleepover!

Shiva gave me a gift :D in a Powerpuff Girls lunchbox haha. When I first opened it, I saw a pair of scissors haha. Yay, because I needed a new pair. Got lost in the tissue paper for a bit. Then got to the gift :) A pair of matching black Winchester folding pocket knives. One for her, one for me :3 Pretty sweet. Even sweeter was that she took time to put our first initials on them with silver Fimo Effect (polymer clay).

Sadly, airport security apparently took out the contents to check them, probably because it looked like a suspicious metal box in the luggage. Haha they probably thought Shiva was a threat since she was carrying two knives and a pair of scissors (and pepper spray) in her luggage XD They f'ed up the zipper on her luggage though ): And they broke off part of the initials on one of the knives >_< How rude. But Shiva said she'd fix it :3

But yeah, such an amazing gift, yeah? :3 Her parents think she's a crazy delinquent for buying knives and scissors for me XD haha. These are thoughtful gifts, in my opinion. I appreciate them wholeheartedly :) Haha sadly, the only gifts I gave her were two pieces of origami art that I did a few days earlier (first time, so they're not very impressive haha), a crane and a you-and-me heart. They weren't even on red paper XP A yellow-orange paper heh ^_^;

Back to last night, Harrison and Michelle W came over. Harrison bought plain yogurt for Shiva, so that she could make rava, which I still can't pronounce >_> A lot of yogurt in that; it was too sour for me until Shiva added sugar, which is not a normal ingredient for rava XP Taste was interesting. Not my preferred taste, but it was ok.

The four of us watched movies because we didn't know what else to do. First, tried to watch Iron Man 2, D's copy, but the audio didn't work -_- Next, "How To Train Your Dragon," D's copy, except it started skipping toward the climax of the movie -_- So Michelle went to her dorm and brought up her copies of HTTYD and "Inception." Toothless is adorable, especially when he tries to smile, even if he's just an animation haha. Watching "Inception" the second time was good. Got the first fifteen or so minutes of the movie. Helped understand a few things a lil better. Haha Harrison fell asleep through most of the middle of the movie; Shiva fell asleep during the last half of the movie XP But that's ok because she was sleeping in my arms :3

Finished around 1 in the morning. Harrison and Michelle left. I washed dishes. Shiva and I eventually went to sleep... I dunno when though.

This morning, woke up kinda early. Got up before noon. Ate breakfast. Watched "Speak." Went to the mail room and then the school bookstore to check if there were any books for our classes. Then I went home ): Sad. Shiva's going to Santa Cruz tomorrow morning for Leadership Today. She'll be back on Friday. In the meantime, I must get my paper done -nods- Then on Friday, hopefully, we'll go eat and karaoke with Kat, Andrew, and other people.

Anyway, yeah, that's all that I can think of right now about what's happened. Tomorrow, I'm going ice skating with Amy, Lisa, Christine, Albert, and maybe a few other people. I don't know for sure. Lisa's giving me a ride. It's been about year since I last went ice skating. With Amy, Lisa, and Christine haha. Sad that Shiva won't be here to join us ): Another time -nods-

I can't believe there's like only two weeks left till I'm back in school -_- Break is going so fast. I'm not sure I feel prepared to go back to school in two weeks. I need more break. Maybe I should stop staying up so late XD

Happy 2011!

It's a good start to a new year. Shiva and I have ended 2010 and started 2011 together on Skype haha. Along with her friend Adam. With some small fireworks and the ball drop on TV.

The last two days of 2010 were two of the hardest, but they were days I needed. I'm learning things I need to know.

I'm hoping 2011 will be a good year for my family and friends. I know 2010 wasn't the best for a lot of them, but they've certainly gotten through it all somehow. And I'm glad that we all made it to the new year alive and well, or at least I hope so. The new year means a new start, I guess. I hope we all take the new start to heart :)

Anyway, I'm watching Shiva and Adam light more fireworks (double fountains haha) before they go off to light some of the bigger ones in some parking lot haha. On Skype, because they're outside, I get like freeze frames of the fireworks. Mostly, I either see bright lines dancing in the air or bright rock-like shapes morphing on the ground as they poop out residue (snake and worm fireworks). Or giant sea anemones (rain dance) haha. The Golden Shower >_> looks like a volcano.

Ahh, I wish I could be there with Shiva to welcome the new year with a kiss and a hug. Ah, we will have future new years to come, I hope :)

So anyway, yeah, this is my New Year's. I thought it wasn't gonna be great because I wouldn't be out of the house. My plan had been to go out and call Shiva. But you know what? This is great. I get to see my beautiful girl, "chill" with people, and no have to deal with the apparently horrible smell that goes along with lighting fireworks :P

I don't think I've got more to say other than I'm glad to make a new friend, even though I have met him once during the summer.

So I hope y'all had a great start to the new year. I hope you have a great year with a wonderful beginning, middle, and end :) I hope to spend some of it with all of you. Many of us are turning 21 this year. I know 21 is supposed to be a milestone in people's lives, at least here in the US. So I hope I can celebrate your milestones with you. If not, I'll be there in spirit haha.

Stay safe, keep warm, keep cool, don't drink and drive, plus all those other well-meaning warnings. May you all achieve great fortune and chill memories.

Happy New Year!
Peace, Love, and (not) Cankersores XD
Instead, I say.... Peace, Love, and All That Is Awesome :P

Clarification

Hey, so a couple of months ago, I wrote a blog entry about my trip to So Cal to visit Shiva. In it, I talked about how we went to a dance club. I just want to clarify one part. I don't know if it makes any difference now, but it matters.

When I wrote:

"There were go-go dancers o__o Did not want to look, but couldn't help it. I found it funny to watch the girls watching the go-go dancers XD Their mouths were open. They looked mesmerized haha."

I don't know how you actually took that part of my entry. I meant for you guys to believe that I was checking out the dancers but then realize that I meant I was laughing (on the inside) at their audience. I dunno. I thought it was funny. I thought I had made it somewhat clear that that was what I was focusing on and not on the go-go dancers.

I know I didn't write that properly, so it might have come off as if I couldn't stop looking at the dancers. But really, when I was looking at them, I was thinking about their audience and how I was going to add this scene to my blog entry.

If I were to go back and revise that part, I'd probably add something to it:

"There were go-go dancers o__o [So strange, so different (for me).] Did not want to look, but couldn't help it. [Why? Because] I found it funny [and sad] to watch the girls watching the go-go dancers XD Their mouths were open. They looked mesmerized haha."

My original intention with writing that part of my entry was to mislead or fool my audience. But it probably didn't work or probably came off wrong. Probably made me seem like I was thinking not-so-innocent things other than "Those girls look sad and pathetic." >_>

I don't know if you believe me or not, but I'm just telling you so that we're clear. This is the best I can do to clear up what I wrote back then. I just want y'all to know that I would never think of someone else in the same way I think about Shiva. I would never even consider thinking of someone else in any non-friendly way because I consider that cheating.

If I ever think or do anything like that, I give all who read this the permission to slap or smack me. I tell you to stop being my friend or just kick me to the curb. Because if that is the case, I do not deserve the girl that I have. She is worth more to me than she thinks. I would never betray her like that. I am much better than that. I hope you all believe me. Nobody else has got anything on her.

Haha Makes me think of "Nothin' On You" by B.o.B Ft. Bruno Mars >_> You should trust me. I am better than those doubts you may have about me.

Two days till 2011...

So I've only left my house once so far this break XD That was to go to Boiling Crab with Ariane and Maggie on Monday (Kat was supposed to go too, but she was busy). There was a line :O But we were early enough to be seated when the door opened. Lunch at 3, yay. Crawfish and sweet potato fries, tasty :)

Got caught up on some things. Ariane might start focusing more on school and less on dance. Maggie's planning to go to Jamaica with Dan in the summer (Dan's graduation present) :O That's pretty awesome.

It was a good lunch :) Afterward, we went to Maggie's house for a bit. First, we cleaned out the back of Ariane's car XD HELLUH messy hahaha. Threw out most of the papers and stuff. She needs to vacuum her car XP

Anyway, only got to chill at Maggie's for like twenty minutes before Ariane had to leave. So hugged Maggie, waited for some dude to move his truck out of the way, and left for home (Ariane gave me a ride).

We need to hang out more. Ariane (and, I guess, a few other people) wants to meet Shiva sometime :D So maybe, when Shiva gets back, we can all hang out :)

Shiva's back in about eleven days. Then she'll be gone for a few days. Then she'll be back again XD haha.

Hmm, so other than the lunch on Monday, I haven't gone anywhere. I've been home, watching movies, sleeping, eating, and listening to and organizing my music. Yay, I have about 2000 songs left to go through. I've already gone through more than 4500 songs. Then I need to download more. Anyone know a good site to get songs from? Hmm, maybe I'll go buy a CD. I haven't bought a new CD in a loooong time, like three years long haha.

I've been hella lazy. Haven't started that term paper I said I would >_>

New Year's is in TWO DAYS. Feels like 2010 only started a few days ago. In Harrison's house. A year later... well, I don't have any plans for going into the new year.

So I said I would put up resolutions. But I don't really like calling them all resolutions. So how about just a list of resolutions and things I would like to do or get done haha. They would probably be good for my health and/or sanity too. And if I don't get to them in this next year, there are many more years to come :)

"Uncolored": Debatable

The colored ones are self-explanatory. Well, that's if you've read or heard about what I've done this year.

#1 and 11 can't really be gauged. I feel like I managed to do them for most of the year, but I'm biased XP They were just two goals to aim toward. Shiva and I attempted to go watch the sunrise, but we didn't actually see the sunrise but the clouds changing colors. We're kinda on the wrong coast for a good sunrise haha. Then being honest would have been a win, if I hadn't been lying to Mother about my relationship with Shiva >_> For the movies, I've finished more than half my original list, but I also added twice as many movies to the list haha. So I dunno how that counts. I haven't really just wandered through any city. I've walked around here and there in new places in San Jose and in So Cal, but I don't really consider that wandering. Btw, though I did choose a major by March 31, I didn't declare in it XP but it still counts haha.

Overall, though, I feel like I did well enough for my resolutions this year :)

So onto the new year's stuff, which will include stuff from 2010:

Stuff To Do in 2011:

Make Shiva happy.
Talk to family more.
Read good novels.
Go Shiva's college graduation.
Apply for graduation. Make post-grad plans.
Get a job.
Go on a roadtrip.
Go on a hike/picnic.
Go to karaoke and dance (party).
Donate/recycle stuff I don't need.
Get a haircut for the summertime.
Donate my hair if it's long enough.

Btw, I hope my hair's long enough to donate by the time summer comes around XD If not, I'll be sad. Having long hair is difficult. I don't think I take very good care of it. I'm kinda impatient about getting my short hairstyle back.

I don't know what else I hope to do next year. I just want to have good, memorable times with friends and family.

Well, that's all I've got. If there's anything else, I'll let you know.

Anyway, I've had a good year with all its ups and downs. I can't say the same for the people in my life, but I hope all's been well for everyone else.

Last two weeks of 2010...

Finals have been interesting. I pretty much spent most of every weekday this week with Shiva haha.
Slept over Sunday and Thursday nights.
Social Theory final on Monday was difficult as expected. Shiva and I were almost a split-second late to the 7h30 final.
On Tuesday, I hung out with Shiva in between her finals and after. After her Psych final, we hung out in her classroom so that she could get her score for the exam (which she didn't). Talked to her Indian prof about us XP I felt kinda awkward.
On Wednesday (our free day), I was supposed to go to campus to hang out with Shiva. However, I had to stay home all day because I did something idiotic the night before. I left my key in the front door all night. Totally forgot about my keys ;-; It was bad. Wednesday morning, Mother woke up and went outside. She saw the keys and freaked out. She's been telling all her friends about it ever since -_- She got hella paranoid, thinking someone got my keys, copied them, and then returned them to the door o_o I don't know why they would do that. I'd just try to break in right then and there. But anyway, yeah, that was fun -_-
So on Wednesday, Shiva came to my house instead. At first, it was just to hang out. But Mother asked if Shiva wanted to sleep over again. So Shiva slept over :P (Hm, we did a lot of sleeping this week). We watched "Repo Men" and "3 Idiots." Fun stuff :)
Shiva and I were up early on Thursday because I had my 100W final at 9h45. Yay, light rail. Final was simple. An analysis of an argument. Also got back my research paper. A, yay. Spent the rest of the day in Shiva's room.
Friday, woke up early for 7h15 final. My PHIL 57 final was much more difficult than I thought. Two essays and two truth tables. The essays were unexpected >_> I think I forgot to mention stuff in them. Oh well. Spent the rest of the day helping Shiva clean stuff out of her room. Took some of it home for myself XP
I don't remember if we were packing and cleaning on Thursday x_x How sad.
Anyway, we went to Christmas in the Park again with Q&A. Yay, rain that slowly builds up force (sadness for Shiva not wanting to share my umbrella with me ;-;). Finally saw the QTIP tree. Walked around a bit looking at trees and stuff. Shiva and I stopped by Bank of America haha. Met up with Killol. Listened to the carolers on the stage for a bit. Then Shiva and I left the group to go back to campus. On the way back, we stopped in an expensive bakery to get an eclair and a chocolate-dipped madeleine. Tasty.
Around 19h00, D came to drive Shiva and me to the SJ airport. Rain and darkness. And some confusion. Dropped Shiva off a little ways off from her entrance because we didn't know where to stop haha. Massive hugs and "miss you's" before I got back in the car and Shiva went on her way.

Anyway, yeah, I don't really remember everything that's happened this week. But that's ok. Maybe Shiva will fill in some details XD haha.... Oh, ate at the DC quite often this week.

Oh, yesterday, or rather Friday night, I forgot my wallet was still in my jeans and threw it all into the wash ): Yesterday, Mother found it before it went in the dryer. She got mad at me and my absentmindedness. Paper stuff were all ruined. Threw out all the business cards except one or two. Brother's photo got words inked onto it from a piece of a paper I had. Mother was angry about that too; bad luck. So she prayed and then tore the picture to discard it. Luckily, there were still three more of that picture. Senior ball photo was wet but ok. Back into the wallet haha. Now, my wallet is still slightly damp but lighter :P

I feel like I'm forgetting too many things this week. Keys, wallet. Reminds me of all the times I forgot other things that couldn't be saved ): Jackets, hats, iPod, cash.. So sad.

Random: Yay for repealing DADT!

Anyway, yesterday (Saturday), I spent all day organizing some of my music files and my desk, yay. Realized I should sell my textbooks soon. Watched "Memento."

Today, I got up and started organizing my room. Spent about five hours going through my backpack and my drawers. Tossing stuff out. Putting things in different, neater places. I don't remember if I gave all my junk away, but the bag of stuff that I had wanted to give away is missing. Still need to get rid of water color markers and paint(?). Re-discovered my wristbands, bandannas, and arm warmers. Stickers and stick-on tattoos! :D All from my childhood. Got rid of some of them though. Too many tiny pieces of stickers and such. Put on like three of the tattoos XD 'cause I'm awesome like that.
Also realized how long my hair has gotten o: It's crazy. But it's gonna be cut off hopefully this next summer.
Anyway, feels so nice to have an organized room. Even if Mother will probably disorganize it after the next laundry load.

Been reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. It's pretty awesome. I wish my brain could follow and solve complex codes.

So that's all I can remember from this week up until today. Gonna watch another movie tonight, read some more, and sleep early. Wake up early tomorrow, maybe get a head start on my term paper. Oh, Mother bought a buche de noel again XD Mmmm, tasty.

Five weeks till Brother is out :O So soon. Shiva will be back in three weeks. Almost everyone who's come back from college will be leaving in two weeks, or right after New Year's D: Christmas in less than a week.

Can't think of anything else to say right now. So I'll leave it here. Oh, I should put up resolutions or something soon. I'll do that in the next entry, if I remember.

Joyeux Noel!

Yay for new shoes and underwear!

Haha....

Today, I went to Oakridge with Shiva. Around 12, Mother drove me to the Ohlone-Chynoweth light rail stop to pick up Shiva. Walked around the mall a lil bit. Looked in Target for stuff, but they didn't have much of a selection for anything. Or sizes were too big -__- Eventually, Shiva dragged me into Payless Shoes, and I bought a pair of black Cross Trekkers for about $25 + tax. Bought underwear at Nordstrom Rack :D $2.97 for one. Not too expensive, not too cheap.

Shopping mission accomplished. Time for foodstuff. Bought tiramisu gelato for nearly $5 from some place near Orange Julius and stuff. Totally didn't notice the name of the place though haha. Wouldn't have stopped there either if Shiva hadn't noticed it. Anyway, onward to Cheesecake Factory. Shiva bought strawberry cheesecake. While we were waiting for her turn, my gelato was quickly melting in my hand D: !! Sticky -_-

Sat outside the restaurant to eat our desserts. Tasty!

We were supposed to get a ride back to my house from Mother, but Mother was afraid she would be late to visit Brother. So I said we would take the light rail home. Except when we got back to the Santa Teresa stop, I realized that I hadn't brought my keys with me because I had thought Mother would drive us home, thus relieving me of the need to bring my keys. Alas, Shiva and I had a slight dilemma. At first, I decided we would go to Ross and just hang out there until my mom came home. But I thought she would get angry at me for leaving the house empty for too long. So Shiva and I turned around and headed to my place.

Skateboarding in my neighborhood is dangerous. Too many hidden bumps in the sidewalks. Shiva nearly fell a few times D:

Trees were pretty. Well, some of them were. Shiva took pictures. When we got to my house, we sat underneath the tree in front and talked. Ate snacks (Danish cookies, Skyflake crackers). Windy ): I felt bad that Shiva was in the cold because I was too stupid to bring my keys. And it seems that ants in my front yard got into her bag T-T

To stave off the chill, we listened to her iPod and danced haha. In the light in front of my garage. Mother came home and let us into the house. So warm haha.

Shiva ate more spring rolls (two) and took (four) more home. I ate a Viet sandwich :P Mother ate a sandwich too. Had conversation about food and graduation stuff. Mother and Shiva talked through me mostly; sometimes they talked to each other directly haha. Oh, language barriers.

After food, Shiva and I went to bed for a little bit. Then D called, asking for the list of movies that I wanted to watch. I gave him the list (thirty-five movies haha). Back to bed. Until 19h30.

Off to picking up D and dropping Shiva off at campus. Fun.

I'm sure I forgot stuff. I'm sure Shiva will fill in some details haha.

Oh, almost forgot... When we were heading back to my house, there was some guy at the Ohlone-Chynoweth station who kept watching us. I didn't look at him, but I could feel his stare/glare. Shiva said he gave her/us a dirty(?) look. I dunno. But yeah. Anyway...

This weekend is gonna be fun. Gender Bender Dance Lesson tomorrow night at 18h00. Studying for Social Theory. Possibly helping Shiva study for other finals. Watching a movie or two. Food breaks and other breaks hopefully.

Anyway, yeah, that's all. How fun, eh?

Last Day of Fall 2010

It was a chill day.

Learned stuff and watched a video about Stuart Hall in Social Theory. After class ended, Tina gave Shiva and me goodie bags haha. There are a pink 2011 planner (I'll probably give it away. Who knows? I might use it if someone doesn't take it), a clementine, a fortune cookie, and chocolates that I don't recognize (but Shiva does).

In philosophy, listened to the last few people talk about their research papers. Prof Giddings asked if my hat was a San Jose Sharks hat. "No, it's just teeth" haha. Somehow that led to talking about YouKu.com. Then the class found out that there will not be a final. I had guessed that she wouldn't. Her reason: she had given us "a lot of papers" to write this semester, so that we wouldn't need to do a final. Hmm, five papers ranging 2-4 pages and a 7-page research paper. Yeah, I guess that was quite a bit for her class. Class ended early. Turned in research papers, and that was that.

Then I met up with Shiva, Michelle P, and Karishma at Lee's Sandwiches. Met one of their friends, Chris(?). Sat, talked, and ate a little bit before going to Shiva's SOCI 116 class. Ran into Tina and another classmate, Yolanda, in the hallway. Talked a bit about finals and studying for finals. Then went to Cox's 116 class. Watched a video about dictatorship in Chile. Angering >_< Last words from Prof Cox. Then out.

Shiva and I went to the Sport Club because she had a meeting there with the Group Fitness coordinator person. I stood awkwardly to the side. Apparently, my cute awkwardness is the only reason Shiva likes me ;-;

Back to her place, we ate pb&j sandwiches for lunch. Made sesame and taro buns for Q&A. Were about fifteen minutes late for the meeting, I think.

Oh, when Shiva and I were walking past CVC toward the BB Building, there was a group of guys sitting on the ledge thing. When we were walking just in front of them, she and I gave each other a kiss, and one of the guys yelled out, "NOO!" At first, I wasn't sure if that was for us or for something else. She and I kissed again, and again we heard "NOOO!" I didn't turn around to see who was yelling. One more kiss; "NOOOO!" At the door of the BB Building, I decided to see if it was really for us. Move in for kiss; "NOOOOO!" Shiva and I burst out laughing, not finishing the kiss and moving into the building. That was strange >_> and a lil awkward. I don't know why some stranger was yelling out "NO!" at us. I think it was either in disbelief or in jest. Either way, still weird O_O

Anyway, the potluck for Q&A was fun. Not as much food as the previous potluck, but still good stuff. Karishma gave Shiva and me little jingle bell things as Christmas gifts. Four people there that I did not recognize. A girl and three guys. I was thinking that the guys may have been school athletes who happened to be nearby and wanted to check out the meeting. Anyway, after some food, Shiva and I left. Went to her 16h30 class. Kisses goodbye. Her Indian prof, Rattan, happened to get to class at that time and saw. And I think she said we looked cute <_< and "I wish I had a camera so I could take a snapshot." I think I blushed a lot or something; it was embarrassing ^_^;

Anyway, the light rail ride home was ok. Some lady was yelling at an older lady about something for a little while. I dunno what happened, but yeah.

Classes are over, and I have three finals to go to. One hard one, and two easy ones. Monday, Thursday, Friday. I wish I had them all early in the week though, just to get them over with. Oh well.

Schedule for the next week or so:

Friday, 12/10: Oakridge Mall around 13h00 with Shiva to buy shoes. Hang out at my house for a little while?

Saturday, 12/11: Hang out with Shiva. Study? Gender Bender Dance at 18h00. Sleep over.

Sunday, 12/12: Study. Sleep over?

Monday, 12/13: SOCI 101 final at 7h15 (That's why I wanna sleep over). Stress out, hang out, relax. Help Shiva study for her finals.

Tuesday, 12/14: No finals. No plans.

Wednesday, 12/15: No finals. Relax with Shiva. Movies and stuff?

Thursday, 12/16: SOCI 100W final at 9h45. Relax with Shiva? Help her study. Sleep over?

Friday, 12/17: PHIL 57 final at 7h15. Chill. Christmas in the Park with Q&A? See Shiva off to the airport at 19h00?

Yeah, gonna be fuuun. Or I hope so anyway.

Nearing the end of Fall 2010

Tomorrow's my last day of classes. Then three days of finals next week: Monday, Thursday, and Friday. That's gonna be fun. At least my hardest final will be out of the way on Monday.

This week has been ok so far. Haven't done too much.

Turned in my term paper for 100W today. Oh, one of my classmates, Kenya, had to do a presentation (the last one), and she was just having a lot of trouble with stuff. Stuff was falling out of her backpack, her laptop was dying, the projector wouldn't connect to her laptop, emailing her powerpoint to another classmate took the longest time, and Kenya was just really frustrated and stuff. I felt bad, but I didn't know how to help ):

Mm, tomorrow, I have Social Theory and Philosophy of Religion, yay. Will probably get the take-home final for Philosophy.

I'm so happy I don't have any homework to worry about tonight. I'll start worrying about finals this weekend XD

Gender Bender Dance thingy this Saturday, yay! Though, I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it if my headache and back ache don't go away D:

Ahh, I feel like Winter Break is gonna go by just as fast as this past semester has. At the least, I hope I feel well-rested when school starts at the end of January.

Anyway, Christmas is getting closer. Do I have a wish list this year? No, not really. I need shoes and underwear. Then I'll be set for the new year haha.

Today, I found out that my shoes, particularly my left, are worn at the heel and ball of the foot. It was raining today. I avoided the puddles, but I could feel the bottom of the toes of my foot and my sock getting wet really quickly -_- With no puddles around, I'd take a few steps, and my sock would get wet in the same spot. So this Friday, Shiva and I are planning to go to the mall, so that I can buy new shoes. These Fallen shoes have only lasted about a year and a half :O Not that long, even though I usually get new shoes every year.

But seriously, I don't wanna ask for anything this year. I dunno what to ask for either. I am quite happy with what (and whom) I have now. I'm relatively happy, especially at this time of the year, even if Brother isn't home to celebrate holidays and birthdays with.

Anyway, I guess, for Christmas this year, I want... to be happy, to not be so stressed out about school, family, and life. If I could have that for Christmas Day, I think I'll be okay.

2011 coming soon... in about three weeks :O So soon. Ahhh... crazy. I wonder if I'll partake in any New Year's festivities. If I do, I'm sure I won't drink alcohol at all.

Resolutions? Probably none. Or one or two. I remember I said that I would probably try to stay away from making a list of resolutions. Though, I still have my 2010 list in my wallet. I think I've actually accomplished more than half of them :) Yay.

If I decide to make a resolution or two, what should I try to accomplish by the start of 2012? Not gonna say "get a girlfriend" XD haha 'cause I already got an amazing and beautiful girl :3 Maybe I should try "find a job" again haha. "Go to Anime Expo 2011" XD "Apply for graduation. Make plans for post-grad." "Read more books," though it seems I'm gonna have plenty to read next semester x_x Oh, I know a good resolution: "Make Shiva happy." :) That sounds like a good one, doesn't it? I think so.

I'll put up my resolution(s) by New Year's Eve. Probably.

Anyway, I should go to bed soon. Should sleep early-ish for once haha...

Monday, December 6, 2010

Sleepover, yay!

Friday night, Shiva slept over at my house :O First friend to ever really sleep over at my house. It was awesome/awkward.

She came over after 14h00. Mother had left to go visit Brother. I biked out to the light rail station and met up with Shiva. I biked back, while Shiva was on her skateboard. Showed her around my house a bit. When Mother came home, she gave us Viet vegetarian food to eat for dinner. Two plates of spring rolls and two egg rolls. We ate one plate of tasty spring rolls. Before and after dinner, we had been working on homework stuff. Around midnight, we brushed our teeth and went to bed. Watched "Imagine Me & You" :3 My mom had woken up while we were watching the movie and saw the light coming from my room. She didn't know what Shiva and I were doing haha.

You know, I am very surprised that my mom was the one who said Shiva could sleep over. I mean, I had asked if Shiva could come to our house. My mom said yes and then added the sleepover part. Very surprising.

Anyway, Saturday morning, Shiva and I got up, got ready, and took the light rail to school so that she could go to a Club Sports event in the bowling alley. I sat outside, trying to work on a paper. Didn't get anywhere. Tummy-ache was bothersome. I went back to Shiva's room without her to sleep off the ache. When she came back, we both fell asleep through the afternoon haha (Sorry!). Woke up to a eat a lil. Then we were supposed to get up and do work, but I was so comfy that Shiva passed out. Then I got out of bed for a bit. When I came back, she was out cold, so I left her alone and did my work. Though, when she woke up later, she was sad that I didn't wake her up ): I wanted her to get more rest -nods-

Sunday was a short day. I had to leave earlier than usual ): At home, I ate two whole crabs, minus their shells, of course o_o One of the shells sliced open my finger though -_- Such a deep slice. It still kinda hurts. Today, Shiva poured hydrogen peroxide on it T-T

Today was an off day. First class was canceled. A few people showed up, but no prof. So people left. I stayed for a while to use the Internet. Then I went to another building for my next class. Shiva came and sat with me. Then I went to class to watch people's presentations. Then to Shiva's, where Shiva and I remained for most of the afternoon. Then I did some stupid thing ): Then we went to the Student Union to help Tina (a classmate from Social Theory in Shiva's group) with group presentation stuff. Then Tina bought us a drink (chai iced tea) from the cafeteria. Then Shiva joined me on the light rail home. Then Mother and I waited in the car until Shiva's light rail left back to school. Finally, I'm now home. Already ate dinner, which I'm sure was tasty but I don't remember the taste.

Working on my papers that are due Wednesday and Thursday. I hope I don't have to stay up too late to finish them.

Anyway, I don't know what else to say. I've got stuff on my mind. And I should get back to my papers. Good night, y'all.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

It is now December o_o

This past Thanksgiving weekend was all right. Spent all four days at home. Did not set one foot outside the door. No Shiva to go to ): But she was down in So Cal with friends and family, so that was good.

Mm, Mother, D, and I had big meals over the the four days. Some typical Viet foods on Thanksgiving, boiled crabs on Friday, steak on Saturday, and something-that-I've-since-forgotten on Sunday haha. The crabs were amazingly good, mmmm.... Mine was the largest of the three though @_@ So big. The steak was ok. I had mine rare. So much red left in it haha. A1 sauce isn't that tasty, kinda too sour. Never liked bbq sauces nor steak really. But I ate one whole steak 'cause Mother keeps worrying about my iron level. Mother and D had split the other steak D: I felt weird having such a big piece while they didn't.

Let's see. I spent Friday night/early Saturday morning working on my research paper for 100W. Wanted to get most of it done. Accomplished, yay. Tried to do the same thing for my philosophy research paper, but I majorly lacked motivation the next two days D:

Coming back to school this week was difficult. I was so lazy. Didn't wanna go to any of my classes. But I had to. Presentations and stuff. Shiva sat in on my 100W presentation on Monday >_< I forgot a couple of things, I think. But oh well, two of my classmates asked questions, made me happy to know people were actually paying attention :D My Tuesday "presentation" for PHIL 109 wasn't really a presentation. Just a overview of what my topic was, what research I've done so far, and basically going over the beginnings of the research paper. I'm glad I volunteered to go first XD Because the people presenting on the last day actually have to talk about the finished paper.

Wednesday, I watched presentations in 100W. Wrote evaluations on them. Also asked a question :D Then the class had to do an instructor evaluation.

I've skipped PHIL 57 both days this week :O Just don't feel like going to class :/ But next week, I'll show up to both classes, since they'll be the last days of class anyway.

Anyway, Shiva and I went to QTIP to go to Christmas in the Park. Got to the meeting at 18h30, but didn't really leave until almost 19h00 T-T

At the park, there were two or four people standing to the side with a sign that said "FEAR JESUS" and shouting stuff about Jesus, God, fear, hell, damnation, etc. Same people who stand at the light rail stops. Same people who shout in front of the Event Center. I would listen to them, except they're yelling at people and telling them they're all sinners going to hell. Way to spread the joys of the season -___- Shiva and I jokingly considered kissing in front of them, but you know we might have gotten shot for that XP

Anyway, QTIP group pictures in front of the giant Christmas tree. My awkward lonely poses. Fake snow. Coin-racing booth for charity. $3 churro x_x Attempt to find the QTIP Christmas tree, unaccomplished ):

Brian L was supposed to come join us. He got out of class at 19h15. I had to leave at 20h00. Somehow, the three of us ended up meeting at the light rail stop haha.

Mm, oh, random: when Shiva was about to come back up to SJ, her mom bought a 12-inch pumpkin pie O_O for Shiva and me to share hahaha. SO BIG. I took like a quarter of the pie home on Monday. Just finished it tonight. We've also been slowly eating the pie since Monday. I think we've got a little more than a quarter left.

And ooh, I got a new bed O_O Like an actual bed haha. Not like the air mattress that I've been sleeping on for I-don't-even-remember-how-long. It's a Diamond Mattress--I've never heard of this brand. A full-sized pillow top mattress. So soft, not firm. It's so weird now that I'm going to be sleeping way above the floor in my room XD It also takes up quite a bit of space. Mother will only be able to vacuum a few feet in a straight line, and that's it. My floor's gonna get dusty -_-

I also learned that Brother might not take his dresser with him when he gets out of jail and moves into a new place -_- My bedroom will remain cramped for years to come. Nooo. He better take it with him T-T I want my room to myself. I want space, even though I guess it doesn't really when I'm barely in my room anymore.

Hm, wow, it's already been three months. Two more months, and Brother's out. A whole school semester passing by so quickly. A new year to come in less than a month. Obama's been in office for almost two years now. Shiva's Spring graduation coming after another semester together (three classes together XD). My graduation another semester closer. My "future" is that much closer. My unpreparedness is showing more and more. But I'll prepare myself eventually. I've got the help of a lovely Shiva :3 haha. Yeah, days, weeks, and months are passing quick, but it just means we're getting somewhere.....

Not much else to report haha. After tomorrow, I have a week of classes left and a week of finals. My hopefully hardest final will be on Monday, December 13, at 7h15 @_@ Easy finals on Thursday the 16th at 9h45 and Friday the 17th at 7h15. Hopefully easy take-home final due that Friday at probably noon.

Sad that Shiva's gonna be far away for at least four weeks >: How will I survive? D:

Oh, and this break, I have quite a bit I want to do: write the term paper for SOCI 116; read at least the two books that Shiva let me borrow and maybe Le petit prince; talk to Shiva when I can; watch a bunch of movies from my To Watch list; download a bunch of music (It's been quite a few months since I've downloaded music. It's crazy); catch up on rest; catch up with past friends; maybe do something active (We'll see).

That's all. Good night :P
